Yeah, I wish I could go to an off base doctor, but referrals take too long sometimes.

I tell everyone this, it's your health so imo it's your job to take care of it. Expecting the doc or whoever to call you back regardless is just asking for trouble. I'm not making excuses for them...they SHOULD call you back if it's something serious or even minor but lets face it...doc's that I work with are over worked and busy all the ****ing time, they regularly work 14+ hours. They're human and will forget about you...If you get seen, call them back in a week and ask them about results..or the clinic or wherever you're seen.

Hell...the DoD will soon be going to a system called MiCare...make an account, you can message the clininc/doc/nurse directly and they will respond via messages with all of the answers to yur questions and concerns.

Not to rant, but I really hate when people ***** about medical when most of the time, the doc or whoever tells you to go get this or that done and the patient ****ing slacks off and wonders why they show up red in the system for the flight status or what have you...We're medical, that means we take care of you as best we can, not hold your ****ing hand(this is mainly directed towards asshats at the pentagon, aka colonels who don't know how to make their own appointments).../rant.

tl;dr- if it's so important follow up yourself instead of waiting for us to contact you regardless if there is an issue.

Sorry, I'm held accountable in my job, they should too. It doesn't even have to be the doc that calls. Doc reads xray, "****, he actually broke it", leaves memo/note/email/smoke signal with record/one of the million Airmen running around to call Joe Blow that he needs to come back in. We're all overworked, some jobs are a bit more important than others and if you can't meet the standard, GTFO. I'm going fishing.

On that note, I'm going to the doctor for chest pains.

Had them when I woke up on Monday, still did my PT test, and they haven't gone away.

****, maybe not. What's the rule for going to the ER again? I'm not dying, any faster at least, but this **** hurts and it hasn't gone away since monday.

I totally agree...I'm not making an excuse for them not contacting you...I'm just saying...whenever I go to get chcked out, I alwasy call back regardless of if my sypmtoms or pain went away. I understand people getting checked out are busy, but perfect example isa guy had a vesectomy, his post vesectomy semen sample still had sperm in it...dint get a call and found out next year during his PHA...thankfully his sample a year later was negative for sperm, but still, you see my point. he though that cuz noone contacted him he was fine...I'm not trying to say that its his fault but at the same time...we do see a **** ton of people every day, stuff anturally falls thorugh the cracks.

EDIT: If anyone wants to know ANYTHING about their medical **** just pm me...I can look into it, i have friends who have access to all your records(except psychology)...so xrays, lab results, docotr notes, etc...hell, I have access to 75% of it.

So I've decided no more injuries for me. I got *****ed at by an Army Lt who was in scrubs with no rank presented for not saying "Sir."

Got *****ed at because my sleeve was on the largest button(furthest, w/e the one you use to roll your sleeves) on the wrist without the splint on it. Have you ever tried to change the button on your sleeve with the same hand? Its ****ing impossible.

Surgery Friday followed by 14-30 days con leave.

AFI 36-2903 does not say which of your sleeve buttons you have to use... the only thing it does say is in general uniform wear about a 'professional military appearance' which is highly subjective and open to interpretation. However, it's somewhat common for people to rock the 'wizard sleeves' but it's mostly occupation dependent.

That LT sounds like a tool. I hope they don't expect people to salute them when they go outside in scrubs... and if they were the ones correcting your uniform wear then they need to jump off a bridge as the experts on uniform wear has always been the NCO and they should know that different services have different regulations...

No it was a SSgt while I was at work today.

It is kinda amazing, I showed up on Monday to my commanders office in basketball shorts, a tee shirt, and flip flops, he was fine with it, I wasn't expecting to see him, they recently switched offices and I walked into the wrong area. I apologized and he pretty much said if he were in the same situation he would be dressed the same way, we had a laugh about tieing shoes one handed and I went about my way.

But noo my fing button wasn't correct. Oh well that's life.

Pretty sure if I went off base for anything, my flight doc would **** bricks.

Hurlburt has a two flight docs for thousands of fliers. I literally made an appointment, first available, May 2nd....for June 6th.

When I was at Keesler I was pretty ill so I called the appointment line and the best they could do was a couple weeks from then. I told em that wasn't gonna do and they said I could talk to one of the nurses who then read off a bunch of symptoms which I either denied or confirmed with details. they were originally going to get me in the next day but I saw the doc a couple hours later.

and when I separated my shoulder I was able to see the doc that day and within a couple hours as well but I guess when you use phrases like 'painful to move' and 'limited range of motion' it lets them know that you need prompt medical attention.

I would tell you to ask the First Sergeant what their opinion is but without knowing your first sergeant I don't know if that's a good idea. Although the next time they ***** at you tell them that if they find where it says you need to use the other button in 36-2903 you'll do it.

Wizard sleeves are 100% legal, only thing is you can't roll them up inside themselves. This was changed in the most recent 2903 dated July of 11.

When I was a kid, I was coughing up a white phlem. An air force doc told me my tonsils were shedding.

Anyone on the east coast interested in organizing a bivvy biking trip?

Now all of a sudden I'm back on ****ing dayshift. Seriously, this is pissing me off. I am the only person who gets switched around constantly. I have no continuity in my shifts and it's ****ing my sleep up, what little I get. Mids is the only shift where I am not awake for hours and hours after I get home. With any other shift, I am awake on average about 20hrs. **** this, I'm emailing my section chief at my shop and asking to GTFO of this crap.

Just bring your check book and debit card. Make sure the card doesn't expire while you are there; it's awkward when you can't buy anything and have to borrow cash. Trust me.

I wouldn't waste time with phone cards. You'll end up with a 500min card that you actually use 2min of and then it will sit in your wallet until you admit that you wasted the money.

I dunno WHERE this "one call a week" **** is coming from. I never got any phone calls.

But then I was also recycled for fighting.

I got in trouble for a contraband bag of skittles. My mistake was sharing them with my flight, as the leader was a serious douche and after taking his share promptly turned me into the cadre. Who laughed their ***** off about what a dick he was and gave me a coke.

BS. This attitude is my number 1 beef with the Air Force.

Volunteer and boss the **** out of everything. Even if you suck or somebody hates you for it; you are at your best. **** the rest of those weenies.

Consider it training for indoc and beyond. The "ghost" attitude will result in you failing your team.
