blow back and chops

I have a problem, on my eblade with the eyes ON I am chopping some balls. Also I have some blowback which sucks with my halo because anyone that has has paint splattered in the inside of the halo stystem knows that it takes awhile to take a part and clean. I was wonderin which settings I should adjust to fix these problems

is this just when shooting slow... like one at a time. Or does it only happen when you start to rip on it?

Increasing your CDEL will eliminate your blowback

I remember one time I had a bolt with a bunch of Orings on it if it has a oring or a spot for one on the front of the bolt then I would try a different bolt, If not the only thing I can think of is CDEL meaning its firing as the bolt is coming back and what you want is it to fire then the bolt come back. also your other settings come in to play,so if you screwed with anything start at Factory Fast and work from there. Theres a Eblade thread that is active that might help if you post your Question there.

Okay-

FIRST:

What components do you have? Which gun, bolt, valve, etc. This is all important.

It might be the HALO- but tell me which parts you have first

Okay-

How far back into the breech is the bolt moving? When you pull the bolt back all the way, the bolt might be going back too far, allowing a ball and a half to enter the breech, and the ball is also squishing back into the bolt face. This happens with force fed systems. What you can do is adjust this is you screw your backblock in a bit, so the bolt doesn't move back as far.

Josh

pbjosh he can test this if he puts it in classic mode, instead of semi right ><? and seeing how far the bolt goes back .........? i had a problem with my bolt being too far up and not allowin the balls to fall ...... figured it out by using the classic mode and then adjusting it till it was well suited ...... hope that helps a lil

josh are you really trying to say "screw your back block in a bit" to solve this problem??? Would you like to revise that?

OK, Josh was probably right in that the bolt is moving too far back allowing a second ball to partially feed, since the eye "sees" the first ball in the breech, it initiates the COFF time and the bolt moves forward, either mashing the two balls into each other or it "clips" the second ball and chops it...
Now as long as the backblock is properly set to the back of the body, we DON"T want to change the back as Josh stated, we want to adjust the bolt travel by shortening the Cocking rod! With no air, pull the bolt back and make note of where the lug slides over the seer, this should happen at a point where the bolt face is still visable in the feed tube with roughly 1/8" of the bolt still showing...continue to pull the bolt back till it is fully extended, this point should come with the bolt just clearing the feed tube plus an extra 1/16"-1/8"...some even prefer it closer to flush with the back of the feed tube but I tend to think this is a bit too close for comfort...

Also...blowback should not be a problem with force feed loaders like your Halo, or the Evo II since the balls should be under constant down pressure...
