i'm curious for all the guys that have done the insanity/p90x. how much room do you need to do the exercises and which type of surface?
i have a decent size living room but might have to involve moving some furniture around to do this. i have hard wood floors.

Youre going to need a square about 6 feet across depending on how big you are.
Id also suggest a Yoga mat to put on the hard wood floor. Also, always wear sneakers when you do the exercises, going barefoot is pretty hard on any surface.

As long as you bag it (especially if you live here in Jvegas). Malaise and lethargy are common STD symptoms...and herpes is forever.

For the people considering Insanity or P90x, I seriously recommend looking elsewhere first. Those programs are good, I'm not denying it, but there are free resources for the same thing. I suggest you check out Brain Over Brawn, a free e-book (though a paperback copy is available on Amazon) that gives great nutrition and exercise advice.

Yoga, Crossfit, Strength training and Army PT Combined with proper diet will help you so much... I don't have a before pic because I never wanted a pic taken when I was fat but I was 50lbs heavier than this 190lb pic...

cleans, pushups, 8 min abs and planks, run hills, and sprints up stairs.
cleans will help with your explosiveness
abs/planks will help build your core needed in many common techniques
hills will help you gain endurance and increase your speed
stairs will help with agility

No you can, just wear some trainers or running shoes. Youre going to need the grip.

I have done way too many of those in my day. Sprint, gain cardio, lose weight, decrease your recovery time, lower your heart rate.

No flaming or hating involved in this respone, but your core is actually one of the most crucial and important aspects of speed and agility. I wouldn't leave this out of any workout! If you play the snake at all it is a must, and it is also important for balance too. Helps with snap shooting and various things like that. I'd also approach your workout with more of a max interval type of aspect - meaning that you're always keeping your heart rate up and going as har as you can with minimal breaks or rest in between things. Just my thoughts...

If you don't have much space or you want to workout at home I suggest trying a plyometrics routine. The p90x plyometrics workout is decent.

Just try to become the best athlete that you can be. There's nothing specific to paintball that you need to be doing. Even though paintball doesn't require you to be "big" or "strong" the number one thing I would recommend is joining a gym. It gives you motivation to actually work out. It can be hard to motivate yourself if you get P90x or other home workout programs.
Specifically, I would work on getting as fast as possible. That will be the most beneficial for paintball.

Your team doesnt train together for a d1 team? The two teams i coach practice 4 times a weak. Those 4 days are various workouts from cardio upper and lower body to drills for paintball. I have specific routines all written down would you like a copy of my notes.
