Talking need help with some camos

well im looking at changing my gear. i just have some blue dye pants and jersey, but i mostly play woods ball. so im thinking of camo'ing up.

im looking at the valken tac series, so im trying to decide between woodland and the new v-tac camo(well new a few years ago).
i live in michigan, if that helps. i really like the idea of the v-tac.

does anyone know if the v cam is any good in green woods,(i.e michigan)

These are pics of my field

Camo's
woodland

v-cam

which one would work better in my woods, kind of tired of woodland and heard some good thing of muticams, and v tac

For people that don't know the vtac is suppose to reflect the color you are in so if your in the woods they reflect green, and tan in desert areas(but i don't know how well) thats why i need your help.

i personally use ACU cam. having light colours really helps you blend in especially when the sun beams light into the field. I also have some scraps of tank mesh to cover my mask and using a reflective visor also helps. I would get those Vcam pants over the ACU vtac pants only because i dont like the black leg stripes on the latter

is that landing zone?

i would recommend the vcam or marpat patterns. i would use the marpats personally because there is so much green.

Since this is where you play. I would get multicam, since from the pics looks like a mix of heavy to light woods. Multicam is made for woods to field camoflauge. If you play in the heavy woods alot then consider Marpat which is a digital version of the traditional woodland camo. Nothing wrong with the woodland or marpat if you plan on playing all the time in ti heavy darker parts of the woods. Multicam gives you more of a variety.

As a soldier, I can say that acu's are an essentially useless camo designed by a general who wanted to save money by ridding us of the need for multiple uniform designs. Camo is environmentally specific for a reason. For your field I would recommend a multi-cam, or MARPAT woodland camo.(marines). Also, the purpose of camo is to break up your outline. Our eyes are trained to distinguish the human form. So you need to make it take a moment longer, for someone to recognize you from your surroundings. If you are moving, you will be seen. Even in a ghillie suit. But it may take a second or 2 longer to identify you. Get camo that has similar colors to your field, then consider using some 550 cord or string to tie small twigs, and long grasses to your body and gear. Your purpose should be to break up your body's "shape". Don't look like a human, and you will be harder to see.
Good luck.

As a paintball player I can say that camo rarely matters. I have always used chrome/gold/flashy color guns and dressed in bright orange or white jerseys and even against army/marine/navy, etc it hasn't mattered. Sure the occasional guy may get you but its not like real life where the bullet is dead on and kills you. Be like Easy Company and go right at them, they still teach this at West Point since WW2, and my team uses it to this day and works.

Played against a team of ex marines and they all but waived the white flag. Paintball is not war, if you hear a shot just drop and roll to cover. Work on snap shots, as that is the real key to victory, not camo.

MARPAT woodland is fantastic for this environment. Myself and a few others use this type and we're all but invisible. Camo is perfect for freezing in place and remaining unseen. I can't tell you how many times I've relied on my camo to remain unseen after taking a couple shots at someone. Just today I fired at someone who has a nasty habit of talking after they die. Anyways, I hit her twice in the side with both breaks. She looked in my direction and started to yell where I was, then froze because she couldn't see me. I yelled to her "you're out" and she walked off. My camo saved me multiple times earlier in the day as well, like running up the left flank through thick brush and being invisible.

Anyways, I'd use MARPAT.

Do they not do Tiger Stripe anymore? It was so cool! Coolness being my main criteria if I were to buy camo gear.

Don't get too hung up on camo, if you dress in earthy tones, or shades of gray, and properly utilize cover and concealment you'll be fine.

Get something with a color scheme that fits your terrain. DO NOT get roped into something with pictures of actual leaves on it or something like that. You want something with random stripes of different shades of green, brown, and dark grey, and you want the stripes to be big enough to make definition, you do not want to look one color from a distance. Good luck. Something like this might work http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-3CEV466r4o...-dragonart.png

If you were to have to choose between the 2 i think Woodland would be the better choice. Also like IrishNinja6 said stop by your local surplus store to see what they have in stock. Thats where i picked up my MultiCam.

Woodland would probably be too dark. Outside of 12 meters or so, it's just a dark blur, rather than a lot of green and brown splotches. Multicam, on the other hand, would probably be too tan. If you're going with the Valkan stuff, I'd grab the tiger stripe. If you have more options, I'm guess Marpat or Cadpat would work pretty well.

However, since you're in MI, do you play year round? If so, then go with the multicam, it'll work decent in the green during the summer, and quite well when the woods are bare in the winter (as long as it isn't snow-covered).

(Still more uselful than our Blue NWU's in the Navy)

I think Tiger Stripe would be your best bet in that terrain. Or you can just get some old BDU's and keep washing them until they get faded.

The V-cam would be better during fall without the green, where as the woodland would just stick out during the bare months. Woodland would probably be the better choice and for winter with snow, through something white over top like an xxl plain white t-shirt.

The New ATACS FG looks like it would work well were you play. But it is kind of expensive . I myself just play in a $14 Real tree long sleeve and some times a Green BDU top and a pair of brown Carhart pants which are druable as hell and that works perfect for me. I live in Illinois and there are lots of green just like what it looks like in your photos. But the best camouflage is a structure to hide behind LOL.

If you are running around, your camo won't matter. So if you play aggressively, go with something that looks cool to scare the new guy in the parking lot. Multicam, ATacs, tiger stripe, etc.

If you actually want to be able to lay down and hide, to crawl around, etc. I would suggest maybe the Cadpat for the summer- it's much greener than any of the American camo's, and then some type of fall/winter hunting camo.

And stay away from acu's at all costs. The ucp - universal camo pattern- is universally terrible.

You really can't go wrong with some good ol' MARPAT. Pick up some used or knock-off BDU's from your local Army/Navy store and use them. They are built like tanks and I bet you can run through a thornbush with BDU's and not have any visible damage.
