Finally!!! I see what the hype is about.

Ok, I bought a Luxe 2.0 three weeks ago.
Week 1:
Took it that weekend and it was pure crap. Bad FSDO(not making it out of barrel), bolt stick, all around poor performance. This was with the Pooty Set installed. Pulled out Ripper Vic, shot fine.

Week 2:
Removed Pooty and installed the stock 2.0 powercore. Back to the field. only slightly better, still very bad fsdo. Pulled out Ripper Vic, shot fine.

Week 3:
Removed 2.0 cleaned and re-lubed with monkey poo. Back to the field. OMFG, this gun is amazing! I was actually ready to sell it, I was so frustraighted.

Ok, heres the deal, weeks 1 and 2, the field only had infinity paint, pure garbage.(he usually stocks good paint, the shipping company screwed up) Week 3, Redemption gold. The infinity was so bad that it would get stuck in the breech, not even make it to the barrel.

I am going to clean up the Pooty, size the o-rings and give it a try again, but honestly, I dont see how it could get much better.

Improvements I noticed over victory: <---- this is really impressive, I love how my Victory Ripper shoots.
1. Smoothness.
2. Almost zero kick.
3. Much tighter shot group.
4. Smoothness.
and last but not least:
5. Smoothness.

I am a believer!!

BUT....

It does suck that this gun is useless with bad/cheap paint. I dont ever choose to purchase the crap paint, but sometimes its unavoidable.

The Luxe can have a learning curve for some, it did for me. I came from shooting guns that had very little maintenance required. I'm talking in terms of orings. An Etek3 doesn't really have any orings that you need to maintain considering it's a poppet.

Once you learn all the oring fitment and stuff like that it's a breeze. Just take out the bolt, wipe it off and relube. That's it.

You must have gotten some older Infinity. One of the local fields picks up a skid of Infinity weekly straight from Valken (Located here in NJ). We always get fresh stuff and shoots great.

Also, don't always assume it's the paint. I had issues with a Luxe 1.0 where the FSDO was bad. It would load a ball into the barrel like half way, then the next shot would be fine.

The moral of this story is just make sure your orings are fitted good, and you're good to go.

Welcome aboard. I couldn't agree more on the advantages you pointed out that the Luxe has over other markers. It's just soooo smooth. Like any spool it requires some TLC but the rewards are high. If you've ever had another spool (especially a dm), taking care of the Luxe is easy. Either way, I hope you enjoy your Luxe as I have enjoyed mine.

I had to sell my Luxe in order to get money for LL, but after LL I am selling the "temporary" marker I bought (G6R) and getting a Luxe 2.0... After shooting a Luxe, there's no way I can go back to shooting poppit markers, or even any other spool valve. I mean, I love DM's and Geo 2's have always been my favorite, but the Luxe has hit a soft spot in my heart and I like them the most now.

I know what u mean I keep going back to luxes, I currently own a 1.5 and a 2.0. Nothing shoots like a luxe! The only gun that even came close was my clone VX but it had just as many orings issues as any luxe I've owned and the length of the luxe is so nice for snap shooting and running and gunning...

To the OP... welcome, maintain that gun and nothing will shoot better!

Used my luxe 1.0 with pooty set for the first time today, and all I can say is .....WOW!!!!!! Hands down the smoothest, most consistent, most accurate marker I've shot! I think I finally found a marker that I'm going to stick with!

I get at least a hopper and 3 pods, probably 4 on a 45/45. Thats not terrible, more than you will need in most games. If you need more, use a 68 tank. I don't really see why efficiency is such a major selling point. In any tournament, you are going to fill between games for sure, and for weekend ball, pretty much the same. I do have a ripper vic, so I have an efficient gun, but pretty much air up between games with it out of habit.

Don't get me wrong, if the Luxe were more efficient, great, but I wouldn't let that keep me from getting one.

i get 8 pods and a hopper pooty core lp reg and supper good fitment

most i have ever shot in a torney is 6 pods and a hopper if its very well tuned high dwell LP reg you can get that off 3000 with a little to spare

also if your paints crap just put in your biggest insert mines a 97 at least that way alot fewer will get stuck in your feedneck aslo try turning up the tention on your rotor and your set for the day
