Nice - What paint is that, that it will break from 2 to 3 ft off the ground simply dropped. Holy Crap! I have not seen paint like that in a LONG LONG TIME here. (in Florida anyway).

Glad to see it so gentle on paint! I would expect the Rotor to break that paint it's so brittle.

I've done it (tried it) a couple of times, but the condensation that forms in the hopper is a mess.... big ol'e paintball WAD.... ew.

I was thinking that there was a legitimate paint, that out of the box breaks like that... I was ZOMG, better than the Bounces I get back to back.

Ahh...the lost art of paint manipulation.

So many players now do not remember the days of single bore guns and making your paint work for your gun instead of the current methods.

I haven't had to place a bag of paint in a closet with a bag of rice in many years!

Last paint I had that shot like that was some AllStar at Supergame39 in May of 2010. That stuff shot like money and broke on anything it hit at any range but never in the gun. I was using a Macdev Drone with a Pinokio on it and there were lots of faces to mow. I think I went through about 8 cases that weekend.

Sadly...no. I sold it to a local player so i could buy my Clone a could years ago.
As for LL...nope. Been there and done that twice. The game is just a big stale mate due to field layout. The only redeaming factor of the event is the people!

Once I get this new business of the ground I will travel a bit more. My son lives in CT now and a few games at EMR would mean a visit to him and my new grand daughter!

I've had DXS gold break like that.

And when you put paint in a cooler you put a few cold packs in the bottom. Then a towel or two go on the cold packs. Then your bags or pods of paint on the towel. Rotate often! The rice trick works for getting the humidity out of the shell too, But it shrinks the paint.

Hmmm.... I will try that and see how it goes.

I will also try a sampling of some balls in a Ziplock with Rice, as now I am very curious. So removing humidity (moisture) from the shell will make the ball more "brittle"? interesting.

You'll never get marballizers to break like that, but it does help. It does shrink the paint though. Paint is small enough these days.

Rice and water were used to change the dimentions of the ball to fit the barrel.

Reducing humidity actually makes the ball harder.

There was a fine line between sizing and ruining paint. Defrosters in cars, hot cup of coffee...cold air, bathrooms during team shower at the hotel. Anything that could make the paint fit was used.
But what ever you did you needed to recindition a bit just prior to game. If you used moisture to swell the paint you needed to hit it with some dry hot air to counter the rubber shell. If you removed moisture with dry heat or something like a rice bag...dryzit...then you needed a few drops of water shken in the bag to soften the shells.

Mind you this was all prior to barrel kits. It really is not a problem now.
