Eigen .678 is good for the price but I'm getting the Freak and just buying a few choice inserts. It seems like the only option if you want to underbore really small (.675, .677) plus the option of switching out inserts is great. Currently shooting a CP one piece .685 which has been sufficient but after reading more about underboring and seeing the punkworkspaintball.com test results seems like the smaller the better. I also own a CP one piece .689 but don't use that too much. Bore is too big.

I have DW on my Mini and it shoots darts with good paint. I don't have any problems with it but I don't drive it into the ground or try to take core samples with it either

Just picked up a CP 2 Piece Dynasty Barrel. "14, .689, I'll give impressions after this weekend.

I know OP sort of deterred against it but... I actually don't think the stock barrel is really that bad.

I'm pretty sure it is against my religion to shoot a stock barrel.......I've never done it because I might go to hell

Haha... I only use the stock barrel if I get a batch of abnormally large paint. For everything else there's the eigenbarrels.

Great stuff guys, it seems like a lot of support for the Eigenbarrel. I'm considering ordering one as it's so cost effective.

With that said, after a ton of research after being out of the game for a LONG time I've come across this video that seems to contradict most peoples stance-

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r7LMQ...el_video_title
This seems to support overbore

I mean to make no argument here, only raise a question/discussion.

To put things into perspective, as I think a lot of the debate depends on your purpose is, I am a rec baller who just wants the competitive edge on his opponents. Efficiency is not a concern as my tank can handle what I carry on the field. Sound dampening is a plus is any setting, if not even more so in rec ball.
Again, keep in mind I'm a rec baller and stuck playing with whatever paint the field requires you use and we play at several different fields.

Overbore vs under bore has been a debate since the beginning of the sport. The design of the mini works better underbored.

If you're trying to use ONE barrel for ALL paints (to be cost effective) then you have no choice but to overbore. Just get a .689 or larger and you should be good. Also, overbore is good if you want to shoot old leftover paint. If you want to paint match then get a barrel kit like a freak and call it a day. You can probably get a used kit for as low as $50.

Disruptive deathtouch, the most quiet barrel I've ever used hands down.

The stock tube that comes on an Apex2 is going to give you a very loud shot. However, you can attach the Apex tip to other barrels and get the effect without having to tolerate the loudness. I've run an Apex on a Freak as well as my Stella, and it's great for longballing.
