thanks i want to keep a functional look to it. i'm not a fan of stanced e36's. they look good from the side, but stretched tires and tons of camber looks retarded from the back

BMW Cooling Systems 101

Too those of you flushing your cooling system or re-doing some of it. Be sure to only use legitimate BMW coolant, that expensive blue stuff. Using generic off-the-shelf brands will run a risk of destroying your motor. As winter approaches its time to take out the water before the freeze plugs get tested.

Off-the-shelf coolants contain substances that can & will eat your aluminum parts. The process im speaking of that is most common is called electrolysis. For those of you with a 330i ZHP this is ultra important to note.

I buy store brand distilled water to run in my cooling system. Tap water is not safe either as it may contain certain minerals and chemicals. Following these guide lines will ensure great safety precautions for those of you thinking about the next 100-200K. For those of you who aren't think of the next guy to own your car, lets keep these chassis' alive!

Stewart High Performance Water Pumps are available thru me for most 1991-2005 I6 motors at a discount! Lifetime warranty, 20% increased efficiency, it'll be the last pump you ever need! PM for details.

Went for a spirited drive through the mountains. Holy **** my front struts are blown. Front end bounces like crazy. Gotta get a part number for my springs, thinking of going either 1.5F 1R or 1F .5R drop + new koni oranges.

What will I need other than the strut and spring? Just strut mounts? (I already have the reinforcements)

Need & want are two different things. Personally I would do the M3 suspension swap at that point but thats just me.

Deffinatly put front and rear shock mounts on that list. They are probably cooked aswell.

Defiantly consider these for the rear.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-36...3-z4-pair.aspx

And id get some of these also so you shock doesn't pop thru into the trunk.

http://www.turnermotorsport.com/p-34...ement-kit.aspx

For what it cost, I like to run new hardware bought from the stealer ship when I do jobs. Especially suspension, not that the old hardware isn't as good. But since itll come out to about 10-20 bucks to get all new hardware id rather have fresh stuff. I have seen hardware fail although its rare. But if for no other reason they thread easier.

Already did updated read shock mounts, reinforcement kit and koni
oranges in the back.

What's all involved in an m3 swap up front? I need new lcabs, so I was gonna go m3 arms and bushings already.

EDIT: By the way dude (or anyone looking for parts!) im going up to see my dismantler. Im about to drop a G+ on parts so if you want anything now is the time to ask. I can ask about M3 suspension parts.

Its best to buy it all used off the same parts car, then repair what needs to be as you go. This way your getting M3 brakes & suspension at the same time.

BUT before I tell you to get into this let me advise there are drawbacks. This is a better sports car / track set up. For a street car, this will not be good for economic purposes.

Im not sure if you can run the struts on non-m spindles. Thats a good question. Ill dig around in the garage for my old non-m suspension and see if I can answer that for you.

The Front list...

Struts/springs/mounts

Spindle/hub/rotor/caliper

Control Arms

SwayBars links - you can reuse your 325 swaybar because its actually thicker at 24mm vs OE M3 at 23mm since its mounting point on the 325 has less leverage to begin with.

Respective hardware/mounts

The Rear list...just cause

M3 Rear Trailing Arms
Hubs/Rotors/caliper
Springs/Shocks

I think thats it but I feel like im missing something.

1-month to late. I sold my other 97 M3 roller, full suspension, most body panels, subframe, no damage, clean title for 800 bucks to a CCA racer friend.

You willing to ship or only florida cars?

depends on the car....I would probably pay to ship an E46 M3 with full interior and little to no body damage and if the e36 was really clean i would too
Depends on the car

That much better than oem m3 arm bushings? Not sure what year, but my mechanic said I can have a used set of m3 arms for 100

Ascoff don't worry about looking the m3 stuff up, I'm not looking to get into a project that big. I just need to get my suspension/motor fixed. I have no problems uPgrading bushings, etc but i don't think switching my suspension over to m3 is going to be possible right now.

I'm looking for E90 sport seats in gray dakota leather. Preferably all power/memory + heat + lumbar + bolsters. I'll buy just the driver's side if that is all that's available.

For the small hardware I would suggest realoem.com because they have everything at a 1/4 of the price of the stealership. Not to mention good parts breakdowns.

I find myself ordering from www.ecstuning.com, they've got 97% of the stuff I'm looking for, great prices and they're in Ohio, so everything gets here next day, even with the cheap shipping.
