I recently got 'back' into paintball after a 12 year hiatus and bought an Axe. While I love the gun, it doesn't seem to have the distance/accuracy that my friend's DM7 14" UL barrel has.
After reading this thread, I am planning on ordering the Boss bolt and a DW Null barrel; I will regularly shoot Formula 13, so I don't think I need inserts. These balls roll out of the stock barrel easily.
My questions is there a big difference between a 10", 12", or 14" barrel? What size would you guys recommend?
We play once a month at SC Village in Southern CA.

12" is the most popular choice, but usually back players have longer barrels. I wish I could say it made a difference, but it really doesn't. It's your paint and bore size that really counts.
As for the distance, you just need to up your fps... the barrel doesn't affect how far the paintball travels. And it barely affects the accuracy.

The parts listed are every part that's ever been produced for the Mini. The on/off ASA (recommended if you have the money) and the on/off threadsaver are really your only choices for the ASA, and as for the bolt go with either the Boss bolt or Lurker eigenbolt. Hope this helps!

Get a new bolt, either Boss or Lurker and tune it well.

One thing I have noticed and heard from many people is that you do not want the ball to roll right out. The way I run is the ball should touch the sides but slide out with a fast blow on the end. My field has been running valken redemption and I was using my CP .689 back just picked up a .685 where the ball doesn't slide strait through. I have found that my balls now fly truer. I don't mean more accurate, longer, or anything like that I just don't get any effect coming out of the barrel. If it is to big and it rolls on the bottom it is going to create front spin causing them to drop slightly faster. If it is touching one wall more than the other it could spin that way. By having a snug ( not tight) will prevent that. As to the question I run a 16" CP barrel 2 piece. Have a 14" coming in. I have been playing back looking to make the move to snake and I hope the shorter barrel will give me a bit more maneuverability.

I loved my 48/45, but I just switched to a 68 and honestly can't tell the difference. Try both and see what you like.
