Axe is not consistent

Bought a used Axe and have a few questions. After 3-4 balls the velocity falls off. My lurker bolt should be here this week so I'll tune it when it arrives. I noticed some wear on the bolt tube, not sure if this could be the problem. The previous owner has the pressure at 260psi which I know now is way to high. the trigger has a lot of slop, what is the difference in the two aftermarket triggers? I've been out of paintball for about 10 years so I don't know what to expect out of these new guns but I would think it would shoot as good as my old angel fly. A couple guys at the field said my halo 2 will not work properly with the Axe... Is this true?

Not sure about the halo 2, but try greasing your poppet, if that doesn't work, maybe try a fresh brand name battery

What kind of paint are you using?
What is your dwell set at?
What barrel are you using?
How far out is your backcap?

The halo 2 will be just fine. It'll feed 15 bps what more do you need?

Using 2 star. Field paint only. Freak .689 not sure on the settings. The guide is worn past the 2nd oring. Is this normal?

Anno wear, especially using the stock bolt is normal, doesn't hurt, just bothersome.
What about your stock dwell? Make sure it's set at 8ms.
And what's the output on your tank?

Watch the gauge on your reg, change the battery for a fresh, name brand battery, and go ahead and change your poppet oring (I'd polish it and use a -013 xring). Inconsistency is the hardest thing to peg. It basically requires you to go through everything. What you're describing sounds like poor reg recharge.

I use theoringstore.com and for the bolt guide orings I use the 1.5mm x 1mm urethane orings. I also use HNBR or urethane -017 on the bolt. For stock, I usually use a -016 HNBR or urethane on the rear. The poppet, I use a -012 or -013 xring depending on fitment. When I rebuild the reg I use -017 HNBR on the piston. I use a player's kit for everything else.

An easier solution may be to contact Ross at Boss paintball and order a few sets of pro orings.

If reg recharge is the issue, the piston orings and the seat need to be replaced.

Worn guide O-rings are usually the cause of drop off if the reg is working right. Low velocity all around is usually the poppet o-ring. Check the reg as Irony has stated then go from there.

SOunds like the previous owner didn't know how to maintain a gun properly. That's probably the main source of your problems. I would just buy a rebuild kit, replace all the orings making sure to use the proper sizes, relube the engine and make sure all your board settings are stock. Don't take apart the regulator on the grip. Consult your manual if you have an problems.

Well I ordered a lurker bolt but they are on BO , so it's going to be a couple weeks. I am also ordering the poppet and clam shell. Do u guys think this is a good idea on the poppet or should I just buy the boss bolt and polish the poppet?

You'll still need backup orings anyway. It makes no sense to me to upgrade a gun that isn't operational yet.

You are right, i was hoping that one of the o rings was the culprit.

I would hold off installing any upgrades till you figure out what your original issues is. No point in add another variable to the equasion.

Just out of curiosity, could I hand fit the poppet, bolt, etc. with regular black o rings out of a universal o ring kit?

I use dow 33 on the markers I own, just plain dow 33. You can pick up a tube from Amazon, that'll most likely last a couple of years.

Bolt Guide:
http://www.theoringstore.com/index.p...ducts_id=24316

Bolt: (If you use Lurker or Dow33, use the urethane... otherwise use HNBR)

-017 (use this on the Lurker bolt or on the front of any... can experiment with this or -016 on the back of other bolts)
http://www.theoringstore.com/index.p...ducts_id=16051

-016 (I use this on the rear of stock bolts with a lower dwell)
http://www.theoringstore.com/index.p...ducts_id=16050

Poppet: (polish the stock poppet and hand fit this for minimal resistance while still sealing. Most black bolt guides require the -012 and other colors usually use the -013.)
