I've heard some people having problems not getting the hpr below 250psi or so.. Its a easy fix. Just turn the velocity adjustment screw in a little, now unscrew the reg cap out about 1/4 to 1/2 turns and that will give you more room to decrease your velocity. Now set regs and have fun!!

That's on the front of the ASA correct? (Reg Cap)
Any tips you can share with me on setup and the "gotchas" would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Correct, cap on front of Asa. I use Monkey Poo on mine with great results. Just make sure you have a pressure tester to set it up correctly. When you get your gun, chrono with pressure installed and see what your hpr is at and what your velocity is. Report back.

Do you have a guide for the Pressure Tester? (making one) I have a nice one I made for standard regs. Not sure how exactly you'd get a pressure reading from the regulator since it's in the asa and internal passages?
Sorry - with it not with me yet, it's hard to visualize.... also is the LPR like the quest.... just enough to push the bolt back around 80psi?

Pressure tester goes in where the front grip screws in. If you already made one to fit another reg good chance it will work in this one also

Thanks C-Kidder - but my reg tester is Female threaded, so the regulator screws into it. Then it measures pressure off gun screwed onto the regulator.

O.B. you can use a gas through with a gauge in the line port or you can use the male quick connect end of a remote line, that is what I use. I have a Dye Hyper 3 reg tester with a NDZ hyper3 to standard reg thread adaptor on it, I store my ZR1 tester in that in the bag, keeps all my reg testers together.
O.B. check page two of this thread and you will see what I mean.

Will do! Thanks Excope!
Just ordered one of those! - So if I am understanding this correctly. Even though the front grip is not a regulator Air passes through it? hmmmmm interesting.

Very simple. Look on pg2 post 32 (I think). Its a simple asa adapter for a remote line. Just take off the nipple and install guage or you can use a gas through grip with a guage installed on the bottom where the mac fitting would go. Then all you do is unscrew the forgrip and screw in the tester..

Yeah! I ordered allready So air still passes through where the grip goes? Nice. So I guess the grip acts as a volume'izer or stores air either way.... Unless the grip is solid.
dzy1 I have this for my gauge, It's freaking awesome! I love it, I also use it also to tune my Ninja Tanks, when I adjust shims to lower the pressure. So what input pressure does the ZR-1 like?
My gauge....

Tank at 550psi works best. Hpr set to 195-200psi (new bolt) and lpr to chrono. This is the basic setup to get you shooting good , however you can fine tune from those settings.

On the stock board dwell is default to 5ms, I think most run that. I run an APE OLED in mine. Guys at APE default there coding to 8ms, I changed mine to 5 and had to adj my pressure up some. I think the only reason is probably the way the different boards measure the dwell time. ABS I have not touched on the stock board or the APE.
For the shot quality and the efficiency these markers get they are just plain money.
Only two grips/dislikes I have are, the feedneck, I'd rather have a threaded shorter feedneck but I will live. The other is a bit more picky, I would love for the curve/hand area of the frame to be moved back about .5 to .75 inches just to stretch it out just a tad bit more.
All in all I still shoot my ZR1 more than my Luxe.
