Having deployed with the Navy, this is all I heard my corpsman friends say. They all prefer being attached with the Marines vs being in Navy command somewhere like balboa in San Diego

Corpsmen are very much appreciated in Marines. They're also largely left alone by Marine commands

true to what you say. they got the most skate job when there attached to marines. the docs that been with me on deployments just pretty much sleep until needed

I made sure to always make my Docs do all the same training we were doing or going through so they weren't a lost puppy when I really needed them.

Right. But by and large, they don't get screwed with like junior enlisted Marines do

Yup there is always at least one marine SGT or higher in every platoon in FMSS (Fleet Marine Service School) Now its called FMTB I reject that name though.......just like i prefer FSSG over MLG
In general were left alone minus the training...just depends on the command. But when i hear a call for the E-3 and below for a working party i make sure my junior guys go as well.

Started at NAS Patuxent River ,Maryland.
Then went to FMSS in Camp P.
Then went to 3rd FSSG (MLG) in okinawa in camp kinser was attached to CLR 35 (3rd MRB) deployed with CLB 4.
Im currently at NAS Whiting Field in Milton FL
Bout to deploy to Africa
during my deployment i choose orders....where to ....i dunno yet

Go for it man....long hours and a good amount of time in the field though. There is a FMSS in camp P (Male) and one in camp J (Female)
