I think it is unlikely, but still possible. Dark horses, brother. I'll make a gentleman's wager.

Well, there are almost as many delegates up for grabs in the next month as Romney has already secured, more if you count total (no, that doesn't mean Ron Paul will get more than Romney ). I don't see how it is feasible for Romney to not get to 1144 unless he dies.

Delegates can abstain from voting thus preventing him from getting 1144 votes. Many Romney delegates are actually Paul supporters and this was part of the plan from the beginning.

Every state has different rules. In many cases, if you don't vote the way you have been chosen to, somebody else will take your place. Some states have alternates in case the delegates don't follow the rules, some let the state's chairman vote instead. There are no absolutes in the cluster**** called US elections.

You act like the nomination is the only thing up for grabs. Perhaps if you actually attended a party convention, then you'd realize there is a lot more to it. While some of Paul's delegates will be bound to vote for Romney on the first ballot, they will not answer to Romney's campaign. That means that the presumptive nominee will have little control over how those delegates vote on the other issues at the convention, including the party platform, the convention chair, and even the vice-presidential nominee. If Paul winds up with the majority of delegates in six states and it looks like he might, they will have the power to stop the convention proceedings, and make a motion on anything from electing a new convention chair, to changing the rules, to introducing new platform positions.

But even if they were able to "stop the convention" i dont think they would have enough votes to introduce new platform positions. How many votes would they need in order to shake things up? I'd love to see kaos break out in the convention; that would make it worth watching.

It's not going to happen. Obama has lost the swing voters because of his business as usual establishment politics.

In all honesty, Paul has some great ideas, and I wish he were somewhere in the commerce department.
However, at this point in the election cycle, he needs to do the responsible thing and tell his supporters:
" I know you like me, I like me, and we all wish I could be president. At this point, I understand that we will not reach that goal, and while it was a good run, we fell short. The man in the White House right now is the most radical leftist, marxist, socialist elected official we have ever had in office. 4 more years of his policies are going to put this nation over the edge and there may be no coming back from it. You need to rally behind Romney and make sure that this communist in office right now is out in November."

Waukesha WI – Waukesha County District Attorney Brad Schimel today opened an investigation into the “Subs-for-Votes” scandal. Yesterday while wrapping up his Wisconsin tour the Romney Campaign bought $500 worth of Cousin’s subs to encourage the crowd to hit the polls and vote for Romney. Unfortunately for Romney there are a few things that you can’t do on election day in Wisconsin, and Rep. Paul Ryan who was arm-in-arm with with Romney throughout the ordeal neglected to tell the presidential candidate that the distribution of goods on election day is illegal

lol, game-changing.
