So PB solutions answer to my problem with 2 z2 hoppers is " it might be your motors, what's your shipping address and phone number". No idea if that's really the problem.

Either way, it sounds like you're getting a brand new hopper. That's a win.

True, but if companies are going to be able to improve their product, they need to diagnose the problem with the defective part

That's why they'll send you a new one and study the broken one.
More investigation of the paint I was shooting: It broke on the first drop from waist height.

Some sort of plastic membrane under the drive system would have saved my Z2. The paint leaking down into the internals REALLY f'd things all up; if the paint could have been stopped at a certain point, it really would make cleaning easier.
I think the Rotor's sealed internals definitely are more idiot-proof than the Z2 at this point.

When did you buy these Z2's? I bought mine around the time they first came out (October/November 2011).

V2 boss bolt running 150 psi, 4 ms dwell running .682 bored Valken graffiti in my TechT Ifit with stock barrel @280 +/- 4
I never had a problem with my setup.

Hmm, mine has an Infamous bolt that was running around the same settings. Short spring?

Funny thing, I just installed my Boss Infamous bolt (short spring, recommended settings). Put the Z2 on and it was a total blender. I can see that it was breaking in the hopper near the outlet cover. Thought maybe I had the feedneck cranked down so much that it was causing a problem (it was a guess). So I grabbed my beta Z2 (has a smaller feed neck). Same thing, total blender. Put on a Rotor with the same paint (Ultra Evil)....no problem. When I originally tuned the gun for the Boss bolt I set it up according to the instructions. When I was testing velocity over the chrono I was only one balling and didn't have a problem. This is the first time I tried shooting at PSP 12.5 or Semi.
The Z2s would feed for a bit then get a jam. The jam was caused by the outlet cover coming out of its grove where it funnels paint to the feedneck. Once that popped out of place it would obstruct the travel of the paint and soup would result. Both hoppers feed fine off the gun with no issues. On the gun, a whole other story. I tested with reballs and the same thing happened (the reballs are a smaller bore than the paint .670).
I'm going to try again tonight on my GEO2. The only thing changed was the bolt. I'm going to try my stock bolt and the Lurker bolt in the Axe. I'm also going to test both Z2s on my GEO2. Don't see how the outlet cover would come out of place unless there was excessive blow back.

hmmm, interesting. How can you tell if there's blowback? Let us know what happens with your test, please!
I was shooting some paint today with a shake n shoot, and I did notice that balls would fly back up into the hopper a bit when shooting. The Z2's outlet cover is pretty solid though, it clips in pretty tight.
Everything that's happened in the past few days has made me decide to get a V3 Rotor as a backup loader. I still love my Z2, but I'm not the type of person who likes to take chances.

a simple test for blowback is to (no hopper on marker) drop down 2 paintballs down the feed neck and take a shot. Does the ball on top of the other pop out? If so, there may be a little blow back.
Also this Z2 news is disheartening - I have two bust Pinokio shells, and they aren't do in till the end of may, so I was going to get my son a Z2, but now I'm kinda nervous to do so, I hope they resolve the issues quickly. ( I know Kee has good CS, but still)
