I'd call you ignant, but... no, that's the right word for it. Ignant. The heel is quite central to big/good Olympic lifts.
That being said, I'll still wear my Chucks for powerlifting. Not a silly pair of shoes that look like they'll compress with a few hundred pounds on them...

Eh you both make valid point from two valid schools of thought as far as lifting goes (though the stripper shoes comment was a bit much, it was still funny)

Some would left barefoot if allowed and would consider the Adistar's overkill

Also depends on what kind of lifting you do

Powerlifting, barefoot or Chucks. Definitely not those things. Olympic lifting, you're going to want shoes with an elevated heel.

Edit: If your goal is to post more weight. Though admittedly, the same logic can be extended to powerlifting suits and straps, but that's another argument.

There is no compression. There is just you, a thin layer of a hard rubber, and the floor. Like a version of those barefoot running shoes... but not for running.

So I'm looking at handguns again. We use Glock22's at work, but I don't want a Glock for my oonceal carry. I was considering a Smith & Wesson M&P40(compact or full) when I was looking a few months ago, but I'm always tempted by 1911's. I don't know if I'd carry a 1911 with me all the time though. I think I just really like the look of them.

Any suggestions? I know a lot of people prefer to carry a 380. I'd consider something in that caliber for ease of concealment.

I like the Springfield Armory XD series, the XDm especially.

That said I also liked the simplicity of my buddies glock and the feel of my uncles 1911.
