Bleh, the applications are a one time deal and sound a lot more intimidating than they really are... based off experience with friends (who I helped along the process i.e. editing essays) even Ivy league programs are a lot more accessible than I had imagined.
And when you are THIS busy, time flies. It's over before you know it... To put it into another perspective: The summer we did Chicago (which does not seem terrible long ago, right?) I hadn't even started... now my Master's is in the bag and I already have over a year shaved off of doctoral study.
At this point it becomes more about your motivation/drive than it is your skills/abilities. But do not start if you're not sure you are ready.

Well the company I work for would pay for most of it if not all but I'd also have to do my regular job at the same time soooooo I'm real hesitant especially when I don't think it'd help my career a whole lot in the long run.

I year ya... In addition to post grad school study this year I am working around 65 hours between internship and work, and I am probably traveling around 10 hours. 85 hour weeks are not fun.
If is it not going help your career... it's almost a no brainier. I can relate; I would not see a pay increase from the specialist to doctorate level, so I will be giving it a break after this year. If I eventually want to open a pvt practice or teach college , I would have to go back. But its not a necessary step for me either.

It would open a few more doors in my company but I'm not sure they are doors I'd ever want to go through anyways.

For Finance/Econ, the average seems to be around 12. But I'm at the point where I'm not sure reach schools are reaches, so I applied to all of those.

It's expensive but the brief amount of grad school I could afford was awesome. Work was picking up the tab after awhile but they stopped the program. $2k a class is just too much to keep doing for me.
I'll go back eventually.

Also, to be explicit, grad school for a Masters or PhD is way different than a MBA.

True. As are applied/practitioner vs experimental/research programs within the latter...

Yeah. An MBA sounds like a good deal of fun.

I'm in my third/final year of Advertising and Marketing right now. Both excited and nervous to do internship in April. I feel like we're either really over-prepared for some things, and completely unprepared for others.

Well odds are if I were to go back it would be masters in engineering although getting an MBA is an option as well. I doubt I ever go back but not having to pay for it makes it tempting.

Not paying is a good incentive. Very good.
An on-topic(ish) question, but what happened with SP? If I understand it correctly, they're out of business, but why?

I am going to be "getting a free MBA", and by that I mean I will actually be working in the classroom for a 17 month MBA class. Maybe I will pick some stuff up along the way, but I certainly won't learn EVERYTHING I would learn if I actually went through the coursework. Still, I will be getting paid, gaining knowledge, and meeting lots of business professionals (it's a night class, and everyone in it is employed/having 100% of their MBA expenses paid)

SP is gone, but there's still DLX that does high ends and there's GOG that does cheaper low-end markers similar to the Ion. Not totally sure what happened with that over the last few years, I was out of the loop from 2009-2011.

I haven't really thought about going back to school. I am at a strange moment in life where I don't know exactly what I want to do with the rest of my life, but know exactly what I will do during a zombie apocalypse.

I'm 23 and yet to go to college. Just making that money. Right outta high school, I was gonna study Graphic/Web Design at DeVry, but they didn't feel like telling us their price per credit hour until we were about to sign. It was almost 3x more than going to Kansas and being a Jayhawk.

Huh. Weird. Wonder if they're still making bank with the electronic patent...

Not sure about that. I know KEE bought some of SP's patents too, like how they now make the Super Freak kits.

IIRC Kee owns a bunch of those patents and are sitting on them. AFAIK they haven't been enforcing them but I know very little.
It makes me think that the new Vanquish that Empire is working on is Simon's version of the Luxe.
