Apps are $60-$130 a pop, plus $25 to send GRE scores. Apply to 16 schools, and there you go!
And a GT doesn't pay me to go to school and research for 5 years. These (hopefully) will.

Yes, yes I did. The last month or two have not been the most social. Or fun. Or anything but working on applications.

God bless. Haha

PS- If (in your case likely when) you make it to interviews, its not uncommon for them to ask how many programs you applied to... for that answer you may want to reconsider the whole honesty thing -_-

Always a great thing.

Right now I'm debating on building either a 7.62 or a 5.45 AK....

Can you believe I check PBN every day, still, even though I never post and even more rarely play paintball?

The whole AK kits looked awesome but by the time you're done, if you look long enough, you can find a complete one just as cheap. I want a 7.62 AK now instead of the SKS.. Might as well.

Maybe its different for me or my profession but when I applied for law school there weren't any interviews...perhaps they do have them for the crazy schools like Harvard, etc. but none for me.

Good luck!

Its rather common, and more often part of the graduate acceptance process than not. Not limited to ivy league or anything (but not typical for law schools for whatever reason). It usually a sign that you've made it pretty far along... e.g. 1000+ applicants, 50 interviews (sometimes they are done group style) and 25 accepted. For my program I even had a surprise writing sample! There are tons of free resources on how to prepare for them, so I would take advantage just in case. But yes, good luck!

Edit: Maybe they dont think its fair to have lawyers conduct interviews haha... but trust me, experienced clinical psychologist were no better. All those beat-around-the-bush and answers filled with fluff did not fly as easily as people expected. I remember some of the girls leaving teary-eyed.

Don't buy a blank. Buy a receiver that's completely ready. (Such as a Nodak Spud one)

well i was only joking about the gun obviously won't pay for school lol.

but dude 16 schools... not to hate but that's the most schools i have ever heard someone apply for. why not pick your top 5... if you have good grades and etc be confident in the top 5 you want. if you get accepted to at least 3/4 of the schools you applied for then what? you have quite the choice at hand. and if you already know which top 3 schools you want to go to and they accept you why didn't you just only do those top schools to begin with? 1500 in applications is a lot. you could have pocketed a grand.

Because at this level EVERYONE (more or less) applying to the program is awesome. An incoming doctorate class is pretty damn small and the amount of applicants the department receives is somewhere in the **** loads. Unless you're the next big thing to happen in the field, don't limit yourself.

I applied to 9 schools and only 2 of them extended me an offer.

Eh, most would consider 16 above the upper limits of what is typical but whats done is done... 9 is not too bad; when I was getting advice I was told no more than 10 but it was just a general rule of thumb.
Its best to put more time and consideration into finding a program that best matches your needs and interest, as well as theirs (especially when considering research). However, as long as quality was not lost in upping the quantity, its all good.
