How do they exactly know how many kills someone had? I do not see how that is/can be accurate

I recommend you read Matty's article Statistical Manifesto: Where We Now Stand, at Our Beginning, Bear With Us and Be with Us.
He explains why they are not perfect and that the kills are only confirmed kills, so some kills will go uncounted if we are not 100% who shot who. |

This looks immensely promising. Good luck with this!
How about adding an element where people "witness" to specific kills? Let there be a database of confirmed and unconfirmed kills which people could access(mobile website?) and confirm? Then if the kill has 5 witnesses it becomes verified and counted in stats.

You guys should update it so you can click which section you want, and have it order by penalties, or names, or win rating. Kind of like in itunes when you want to order by name, album, or songs.
I feel like this might cause controversy too. Players like Dave Bains do amazing in their positions, but don't get that same recognition as overall rank.
BUT, it is the first stage of this, and a big thumbs up for starting this. I'm sure that this will only get better in the future, and it is great that they are even doing this.
I think if you could do this for D2/D1, it would really be a another step to turn paintball into a more "professional" sport.

Stats
HI,
We are currently running about an 85% accuracy rate on G's. We are adding two more spotters in Phoenix to hopefully improve it to 90%+.
The data and its presentation will evolve as we get better on collection and analysis. Ultimately we want the stats to be viewable by the public after each point (through webcast and PBA website) and are working towards that as well as having the team performance data available for coaches at the end of each day.
The stat collection is a complex process and expensive. We are committed in doing this to better organize our sport, give players the tools to improve their performance and archiving the information for paintball history. This is the beginning of the historical archive of our sport and will be a legacy product. 50 years from now people will be able to reflex back on the data that we are collecting today.
Cade Coleman is the head of the stat program and will continue to answer questions along the road.
