Tips for new dm12 owners

i just bought a dm12 and waiting for it in the mail. this will be my first dm. im going from a 06 naughty dogs shocker to this. can't wait. but seeing how this is my first dm. any tips would be nice. should i just leave it be after unboxing it and just go out and start shooting it? or should i tune it? if tune it, how and what do i tune? does it get smoother as it age? billy wing bolt? carbon fiber barrel? also, any warnings? things i shouldnt do to it. thanks for any tips

Leave it stock to start put 10-15 cases through before you try and tune it gotta break it in first

Just take it out of a box and shoot it. I was suprised how well it shot right out of the box without touching anything. Use a quality name brand battery as well, the ones that come with the marker are not the best. As the above poster said, shoot like 15-20 cases through it then you can tune it a bit. (turning down the LPR)

The Ultralite barrel on there is fantastic. The new boomstick is cool, but I have a hard time justifying spending that much money. Wait until you break it in before the BW bolt, you may not want it. Some people posted that the stock bolt was difficult to break down, so be careful.

Unbox, pull bolt and lube it (or at least check it), put in a fresh battery like a duracell, go to field, chrono to desired velocity, shoot faces!!!

Clean and lube the bolt every few cases or after a day of dirty play, do that for 5-10 cases, or more depending on how often you play. Then tune the lpr and hpr over the chrono (plenty of threads explain it).

Yeah I would just make sure you understand how to break the gun down and to reassemble it, lube it, etc. Then just lube it after every weekend of play, and I would relube the lpr every 10-15 cases after its broken in.

If it was me I'd break it down and relube it all... (not necessarily retune) From the factory most guns are over lubed, so I take them apart and clean that gunk off. I also suggest you break your LPR lose because sometimes they are overtightened at the factory and as they shoot it seems to seize them in place. Just break it lose, then reinsert it moderately tight.

Eigenring will help immediately and a barrel isn't really necessary, but maybe some new backs so you can size for the paint.
