Clone GT Pressure Tester

Is there any way to check the pressure the GT is running at?

This is my only major complain with this marker.

I know you just set it to chrono speed - but if in case the marker is acting up knowing the operating pressure will surely help in diagnosing a problem..

Will MD make a pressure tester? Can an entrepreneurial person with access to machinery and a good imagination make one?

Any thoughts?

I thought of this myself, and am drawing a blank, short of machining a blank with ports in the appropriate spots to read pressure. That would fit in the body with a gauge on the back. It would need orings to seal the appropriate spots and isolate the output path from the reg. That is beyond my capability. As Clint Eastwood says, "A man's gotta know his limitations".

that is exactly what I was thinking......I'm gonna head over to MCarterBrown and see if one of the airsmiths over there would be open to the idea.

they should've built the reg to only adjust through a certain pressure range, that would've been the smart approach.

I drew a blank when thinking about this as well. Definitely outside the realm of my expertise. If you find anything out let us know!

will probably vary slightly on each gun, close off the pressure so that their the gun will not cycle, then open the reg until crono speed around 300, you then should be around 100psi.

true, but if your gun has an issue, it might not be as evident. but if you knew that it should operate around 2 turns out, but you are already at 3.5, then maybe one of the orings need to be replaced or lubed or delubed. i understand each reg would be a little different for 100 Psi, but what's the average?

i just checked mine, i zero it out until it wont turn clockwise, and i did 4.5 turn out. 2 turn out would not move the bolt.

Dear Macdev,

Please release a pressure tester. I will pay for it. So will many other people. It will make the best electronic marker ever built even better.

James you can just tell us what the aproximate amount of turns we should be getting form zero to atleast give us a ballpark to work with in regards to making sure our hpr's are preforming correctly, at least for now.

Around 3 turns should be fine but some springs can wear in to a different length so it's not a precise measurement.

Thanks james, I don't expect that method to be accuarte but at least now I have something to shoot for if I encounter reg problems.
