I will have to say - you rub me the wrong way but a few of your photos in the last thread seemed to tell me that you were becoming fascinated with light - and that is a good thing in my book. Not that you should give any ****s. are
photo 1: grow a pair and photograph her front... learn that before you try and make someone without eyes look interesting ///// photo 2: the ONLY thing I can think you would have been experimenting with are the reflections of the trees in the wall of glass... and if that sortof thing interests you, there are much more logical ways of playing with it... confused... in a way that didn't make my day better. ///// are these the only two from the entire B&W and color rolls that you thought turned out..? Links?

Those are from forever ago, i haven't loaded any up recently because ive been shooting for the paper so much latley. I just didn't want a void first post. I don't have a film scanner so i have to make prints to scan them in on my flatbed.
I know her really well, we were just out on a walk and i was just snapping stuff.
I enjoy the cc, I really need it. It is always appreciated

Jeff

Chris, I think youd benefit from looking into photos from the oldschool group f/64

What I'm gathering, is that you're not a fan of what I'm labeling as abstract, and are suggesting I look back into the fundamentals of photography? I can respect that, but can you explain further what you don't like and why?
Anyone else?

Thats not what I said, or even meant to say. The reason I brought up f/64 was simply because your ivy wall picture reminded me of a photo Ansel took as part of the f/64 collective. And I actually enjoy the image you have if only for the slightly crooked horizon.
I also brought f/64 into the equation because they exemplify straight photography and have many photos within the collective that show that the mundane object can recieve the utmost interest when photographed correctly. Something I believe you were trying to do in this set.
I think I may be one of the many good people in this section of the forum that want photographers to research for themselves, and develop their own style through their own learning. I may not always, but I strive to be more of a guide, than a teacher.

Well, I took that 100% wrong. That's what I get for being too lazy to look up the photos. I fixed the Ivy wall picture:
The Second Most Expensive Photograph in the World by Orange Imaging, on Flickr
Which I took because the composition reminded me of this picture:
http://www.npr.org/blogs/pictureshow...-photo-part-ii
I'm glad you enjoyed the photos, I was pleased with the way they turned out with what I set out to do, I just didn't know if they were really any good or not. The last three from yesterday:
Dallas by Orange Imaging, on Flickr
Garden by Orange Imaging, on Flickr
Dallas - Fisheye by Orange Imaging, on Flickr
My biggest problem is being able to critique other's photos pretty well, but as soon as my brain sees one of my photos, it shuts off for whatever reason. So I can't ever explain to myself why I like or don't like one of my own photos, and therefore never really know if it's any good or not. Lol.

Pet peeve: If you tell someone a photo is good or bad without giving reasons why, you aren't helping them at all and just wasting your time as well. Nobody can grow as an artist without being directed to the areas they need to work on, without knowing what they are doing wrong, and what they should keep doing right. I'm here to learn.

I was wowing at the epicness of the pun - wasn't CC. You should level the garden pic, and I like the play on the most expensive painting. Nice touch.

There's a lot going on but I like it. If it was me I would have had the girl jumping over the log, and the monster shortly behind her. Effectively moving it all to the left.
