Yesterday I picked Romo for 12, Megatron for 51, Fred Jackson for 20, Bradshaw for 27(was trying to get my inner Dave Hester on by bidding someone up but got stuck with him lol), Welker for 29, Marshall for 23, Crosby for 2, and then I quit because most everyone else did. Was fun though. Going to do a few more mock drafts to get the hang of it and find a strategy. I don't think I'm going to spend that much on a high level player again. Going to let others waste their cash and then pounce when on a lot of good reliable, players.

Anyone interested in doing one of these auction leagues with me?

I'll do an auction league with real money to spend on the players. I mean, I'll have the extra $50, so I might as well spend it.

A couple of years ago I was in an auction league, it was $20 buy in for $200. If you wanted, for an additional $20 you got another $100 to spend, for another you got $50 to spend, ect, ect.

Basically had like 3 guys dump $250 into the pot and none of them won anything.

Lol. Kid last year thought his team was going to kill mine. He had a bunch of scrubs and ended up like 3rd or 4th out of 8.

edit: 12 team auction draft is a killer. Everyone is way overpaying. Tried bidding up DeMarco Murray and got stuck with him for 41. Got stuck with Marshall for 33 accidentally.

My last 5 picks are usually the ones I spend the most time figuring out. The way our keeper league works, if you can draft that diamond in the rough, it will benefit you for a couple years.

For a first pick over all? Bad idea. This year receivers shouldn't start until late 1st, early second.

I don't mind helping if it's tonight. I'm not doing anything. We can go to a tinychat or something.

But don't take Calvin Johnson first. I personally would take Foster, but if you want the safer pick then you should go with Rodgers. Those are the only two that should be taken with the 1st pick. Maybe, MAYBE Ray Rice. If you really want Megatron, then get Foster and use him to acquire another decent player along with Megatron.

edit: Thinking about joining a 50 dollar money league with 11 other guys on this local hunting forum. Don't know any of them but it will be funny taking their money. GONE REP ST: FOOTBALL AND SHOW DEM WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT nahh mean?

Wait on a quarterback. The difference between the #1 QB and #10 QB each year is never very much. High-end wide receivers are generally fairly safe.

Nobody really jumps out at me at the top of this years draft. I really hope I get to draft in the 4 or 5 spot in most of my drafts this year.

The strategy I have always taken is to take the best player available at the thinnest position that given year. It works out much better later on for trades.

Those would be alright. I did a mock and got like 7th. It sucked. There was Brees, MJD, Fitzgerald, and CJ2K. I wasn't comfortable picking any of those.

Yeah all of those are very meh at the 7 spot. I would probably take Fitz in that situation.
