Other than the feel of the gun cycling there isn't much difference...

Its really preference, if you can try to go out a day and hope someone will let you shoot one of each and decide that way.

Though, it doesn't really matter because if you do end up hating one you can trade it for the other.

No substitute for simply trying each gun yourself.

Etek3 LT will feel cheaper/"plasticy"
Regulator can be rebuilt
Can be upgraded with Ego parts
Better barrel
Better packaging
Better feedneck
Kicks like an Ego and loud
Trigger is sloppy

Axe will feel better in your hands (I would bet)
Shoots smoother/quieter
Not stacked tube (shorter)
Easy maintenance

Biggest con of Etek3 LT is trigger and kick/loud, the trigger can be upgraded (Violent).
Biggest con of Axe is ASA comes loose and regulator can't be rebuilt (without voiding warranty).

IMO it comes down to: Smooth shot VS Rock solid reliable

The loose ASA can be fixed with a bit of blue lock tight. I haven't tried it yet, but it's definitely something to do.

I prefer the Axe because it's a much smoother shot and more efficient. The Axe is just as reliable as the LT (if the Etek is reliable at all). I've had it since October 31 and taken it out 10+ times and no problems.

I had an etek3 LT, and the best thing to do is get a different barrel, (UL,freak). All my friends would always say the the marker was to loud every time I would play with it. So I would use my UL and it helped a lot to soften the sound signature. I know people say that it feels plasticy but you can always upgrade all the plastic parts with metals ones.

I also played with my brothers Axe and can say that sometimes it felt that The marker was off, I felt no recoil, it was quite, and shot great. But it did not have the distance that the etek had.

By the way I did like the etek more

Thanks everyone, I'll put that into consideration.

I have shot both and both felt great. Only thing I didn't like about the Etek was that it was loud lol. Didn't expect it to be loud. But the trigger was okay to me. Etek felt better in my hands. Now the AXE was quiet and smoother to me. But the trigger was just okay, I kind of like the Etek trigger better.

But all in all, it comes down to preference. Now that I have shot the two, I know what it feels like. But I think I'm leaning towards the AXE because it is cheaper and my favorite team uses it and won the 2012 NPPL HB with it lol.

well your team was prbly using the axe pro (around 300 bucks more)... but if you get a techt bolt in the etek it makes it quiet, its what i did on mine

The axe and axe pro are different markers. The axe, a great gun, will need substantial upgrades to perform like an axe pro if that is the gun you are referring to. No matter what bolt you get the axe will always be quieter, no real way around that. Now that you have tried both, the decision is up to you, we can only help so much but do let us know what you decide.

Misinformation. The axe pro is just a redline grip and a lowrise feedneck. Neither of which effects how the gun functions. The redline grip just makes tuning easier.

The axe isn't held together quite as robustly as the Etek. He most likely held one where the screws weren't tightened all the way.

Yea I can understand that part. Some of the 1st runs were not so great with the screws backing out.

I was having the same issue deciding between the Axe and the Etek. In the end I bought a USED Ego 08 from here in absolutely amazing condition. Here is the link to the Ego I bought. You may want to think about going the used route, and getting a high end marker.

good idea, the etek is essentially the ego's offspring. look into bob long (2k5 timmy, vice, marq, maybe a g6r) ego or for spoolie look into dm or luxe

I noticed on newer Axes they are coming with some factory blue loctite. I have also tried putting blue loctite on Minis/Axes. Honestly don't think it helps much. The ASA mount looks like it was designed to allow for low manufacturing tolerances, the way that they have two screws meeting up. I have owned a Mini and now two Axes, all three have had a loose ASA regularly.
