Will post updates as new pics are made. Along with this we have been working on our second mech design, our first reproduction of that same design using new materials, re-enlisting our old mech and making it work for this year, imperial guard style flak armor (Warhammer 40k stuff), a Darth Revan armour and costume, 2 heavy rocket launchers, 4 LAWs, my girl's Camo-Reaper costume, and fixing my Darksun costume or scraping it for the first power armoured paintball player ever.
That just the start.....

C&C was the thinking behind the look. After considering terrain at the field a full rotor was impractical, so the orca wad the next step. (although I did consider a harrier jump jet style as well)

Outstanding work!

With it getting harder and harder to field a paintball tank, we need MORE INNOVATION like this to keep our games fun and interesting. All those LAW players need SOMETHING to Shoot at! Nerf Rockets make great "Stinger Missiles"!

Saw this pic and saved it several years ago. No info about it. Looks like a "Dixie Cup" plane. Fall down once and throw it away. Crash and Burn but I guarantee you EVERYONE had fun watching it in play...

Put your thinking caps on! BUILD STUFF!

That is pretty awesome. I like the use of turbines to elminate rotors. It never occured to me. on project design and execution

This is the first and only walking tank that i have seen that actually looked cool and made sense to be a walking tank.

I am normally 100% against these crappy walking tanks (they usually look dumb, don't fit the theme and just detract from the feel of the game) but yours is def cool enough and well thought out enough (not just a walking box) I would have 0 problems seeing it on the field.

It would be even more impressive if they flew it in the game dropping paint granades on things or straffing with a marker. Years ago I was at a few games where they had ultralites dropping things from the air at the players. We couldnt shoot back though. Probably somewhere in the world they do it.

There's a real helicopter at the annual LI Big Game that drops grenades and shots people. It's heavily stressed that players can not shoot at the helicopter and that charges will be pressed on anyone they catch doing so. It's a Robinson 22, very small but big enough for the pilot, a gunner and a bunch of 'ordinance'.

opinon time..

As cool as a flying machine would be, does anyone realize how dangerous a "toy" of that magnitude would be. More importantly, I am a poor fellow. My helio walks because its all I can afford. That is of course someone has the secrets to Anti-gravity and will to share.

On a side note, I may have to consider a cargo variant for next year. Maybe a sort of chinook style lifter, but ducted fans....humm. I'd anyone builds it before me, all I ask is for a pics and a little credit for the idea..

Oh something else to enjoy. Our tank from '09 Decay of Nation III

GJ - We all know the risks, ones safety, and expences of such a contraption. I just think a few of us were thinking out of the relm like usual. So keep working on "Little Bird" and have fun with it. BTW, like the tank! One last note on a flying machine. About a year or so ago some guy from New Zealand posted on PBN a 2 man Hover type vehicle he wanted to use as a paintball tank.

I do, Sort of.......... An ultra light and super strong construction material that makes man powered paintball 'vehicles' light enough to be have fun playing in them.

Polycarbonate Twin Wall Sheeting. Used for roofs, greenhouses, pool enclousures, etc. Takes hail. That is the structural material AND 'armor' I made the LTTC out of. (Little Tank That Can) A 4x8 foot sheet of this weighs 7.2 pounds. Paintballs will not crack or split it much less penetrate the 1/4" thick hollow sheet. This is the material to make any helo, walking tank, etc light enough to play in.

The body of the LTTC has no frame other than the ALICE backpack. Sheets glued together with Super Glue. The picture below:

That shell weighs an unbelieveable 20 pounds until I start adding another 45 pounds of paintball gear that includes an autoloading cannon and a 25 pounds air tanks to make it battle ready at 65 pounds. It LOOKS a lot heavier. See pictures below.

I'm 62 and can WALK around a field with a 65 pound pack but don't tell anybody. I keep promoting myself as 'Superman's Uncle" and the kids BELIEVE Me! If I can do it, anybody can.

Needless to say, one could be fielded in the 45-50 pound range with the basic breechloading cannon and standard air supply. 30-35 pounds with a marker only. It's not cheap at $80 a sheet but you don't USE that much.

Not only do GREAT MINDS think alike but we have simular fashion taste. Nice SOX..!!!!

Below a pic of it in action at Whitewater in Indianapolis.

If anybody need help with suppliers, let me know. There ARE some fabrication techniques you need to know about so e mail me.

Little farther along

A note on this baby...
We built this for the same cost of one of those sheet. Not to say the polycarbinate isn't the right stuff, just for me and my group, it maybe a little to "high-tech" for us, both cost and construction abilities.
This was built using hardware store supplies, garden variety tools, and a lot of trial and error.
Would love to redo this baby in poly someday though

May have a minor design change in the Arm/missile boxes on the side. Now that I see something in place, I see what needs to change. (for looks)
