for smaller hands, invert minis are amazing. real smooth and tight and accurate. or an axe is also good. like an oversized mini. if ur lookin for somthing cheaper though, id say a proto. they are light. also penut tanks are good like the ninja 50/45 and the empire 45/45

just got one question.....

are your kids wanting to go into woodsball, or speedball? frankly, i would try to get the kids into woodsball.im 15 right now, and i would give my left foot just to join a woodsball team!! its waaaay more fun than a small match of speedball, and a bit eaiser. i got my gun when i was around 8, so oorah to your kids pal!! mine was one of the crappiest jt woodsball guns in the world..

if i were you, i would go with a tippman 98 custom, or a U.S army carver one. i own both guns, both have taken either big falls or tough hits, yet they both work like a charm. both cost only around a hundred BRAND NEW!!!!

due to the fact your from colorado, are you possibly in the air force? just curios....... either way, god bless...

this is great advise by the way..

any time i have a gunproblem that i cant fix myself (this happens alot on my older gun) i take them to DMC paintball. they are very nice people and dont try to cheat you out in prices. one time my JT TAC 5M RECON (very old gun ) had just about blown apart, and they were nice enough not to sell me useless parts and gave me the real news, the gun was done. i didnt have to pay a cent for the inspection. in fact, they even gave me some cash for the parts!

Tippmanns are also freaking tanks. Regardless of whether or not they wanna play woods or speed, they need speedball guns bc they are MUCH lighter, usually around 2lbs w/o accessories. BTW you are aware this has been dead for a month and a half right?

I think the main thing you would be looking at wouldn't really be the overall size of the markers, but the weight of the entire setup. I have seen young kids at some fields using 13ci tanks and pocket hoppers on a marker just because its light weight. Also, I know Tippmans are virtually indestructible, but they tend to be heavier than lots of other markers.

If you're looking for inexpensive, there is nothing wrong with a Spyder, for a first marker and something that can get beat up, I think they are a steal for the price. If you want something a little higher end, the Mini is nice, really compact; I assume the E1 is similar in size, at least it looks like it.

With one of those markers and a pocket hopper and 13 ci tank, you have a perfect setup for children their age.

4/5 is too young, both physically and mentally. What do you think a bunker shot will do to his 4 year old neck? Or his 4 year old internal organs? How will you keep his mask on? How will he even hold a marker bigger than a Talon running on 12 grams.

Physically, 10 is too young for a lot of people. Hell, I've seen some 14-15 year olds come out and we can't find a mask that will stay on their heads. If you want to run them in your backyard, that's your liability. I doubt any field owner in his right mind will let your kids play.

4 & 5 are indeed too young. If you really want them to experience it, get the new JT splatmaster guns. Cheap, no air required, 50 cal (less impact), and only about 250 fps (less impact).
