Shot GI 3 star paint at a local tournament and it flew everywhere but straight. It might have been pretty old bc it had large dimples on every ball. I also shot Noxious paint and it was just as bad.

I shot the GI 3 star last weekend at MSXL and we took 3rd shooting it, great paint for $35/case. Maybe you did have a bad batch

The paint that sucked hard for me was wild streak haha that paint was so brittle nothing could shoot it. Every time you would open up the paint there would be like 15 breaks in it so it was all oily and covered in paint. Then you would get a towel And roll the paint in it (SOFTLY!) and it would break....FFFUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Anyway a paint that I liked back in the day was Scorch from Walmart it was a red ball with pink fill I think. Shot decent and broke pretty good through my ****ty VL Orion

Do not get any JT paintballs, especially elite. They try too hard to make it like the pros do and they fail, it breaks to easily and it comes with loose paint in the bag and it is hard to clean

I bought some JT Elite from Walmart to try out as practice paint. It has the same shell combo and fill as my local field's Empire Custom Blend and they're both RPS Advanced Formula paintballs, so I'm assuming they're exactly the same.

The Empire Custom Blend I've used at the field isn't too bad. It isn't the straightest shooting paint, but not the worst either. The shell breaks reliably for me but isn't too brittle. Not as brittle as a tourney grade paint. Maybe the JT Elite is more brittle, otherwise it looks exactly the same as Custom Blend.

Oh, I opened the boxes (500 rounds each) at Walmart to make sure they weren't dimpled or broken at all. Each of the two I checked were fine.

I would stay away from zing. It just seems to go all over the place. At my field it seems to break too easily in your hopper as well.

On my old team we bought like 30 cases of Zing for pratice paint. Worst mistake of my life. That stuff was so mishapen and would not feed through anybodys' hoppers.

The paint I would stay away from is RPS Premium, we got custom shell and fill combos for a local tournament (meaning it was fresh from the factory) and I watched every shot I put on the home player bounce off of his body, pod pack, and even his mask. Infuriating.
never heard of a bad thing from premium in my life. i always use it and its great.
as far as Empire Custom yeah that **** sucks. theres a field here that only allows that paint.
XO Spectrum is also crap and hurts like hell but it always bounces.

I like this. I personally try to stay away from any paint at a walmart/sports authority/dicks ect. they often already carry lower end quality paint and they let the stuff sit for weeks or months until its sold.
If you ever run into TC Viper Venom, I personally would stay away. It used to be the only thing the shop near my house sold. Sure it flew straight and i hit what i was aiming at, but 1/6 shots broke on target. that stuff was HARD.

Played with Empire Heat and Premium last weekend and will never use either again. Worst filling I've ever played with(thin white that looked like semen. people just wiped all day), awful ball flight, and hard as a rock. I shot 10 feet away at solid wood siding and every single ball bounced. I don't know if these were bad batches or what, but I would shoot walmart paint over that crap.

What I hate the most is Brass Eagle Wild Streak and Empire Heat..
Wild streak was TOTAL ****. Bought it from a sears closing sale and the balls were stuck together, dimpled, and I don't even think they were paintballs... They stretched out until they were flat and still didn't break.. I did a drop test with my rotor and halo... Rotor jammed every two balls and halo jammed every 6..

Empire heat is also ****.. Dimpled, watery fill, never broke, complete ****. Stay away from it.

JT Elite is nice. The case I got for 30$ at Walmart had no dimples and it broke every shot.

The last time i shot GI * and GI** I had a serious problem with them swelling after 5-10 minutes from opening the bag but despite that the flow straight enough... I have to admit that the rotor was giving me jams for the first time because of that...

It's funny because I generally think spectrum is the hardest/most painful ball I've ever experienced. It's the low end paint at several local fields. Usually it flies fairly straight but **** that paint is hard.

However the last batch we got in I've watched balls roll off a table and break.. Seems 4/10 balls are really brittle in this batch.. But even when it breaks it's still painful as hell to get hit with. It's also the only paint thats actually made me start using my chin strap on my ref mask as I've had streams of it push my mask up.. Never had that happen before.

I've heard Heat cuts your skin more then spectrum..

"Red Legion" paint is another terrible paint.. Its JT Stingers rebranded.. Similar shell to spectrum except it never flies even remotely straight.

Empire custom at my local field is awesome. Very good shell, it breaks better then premium, but has a slightly more watery fill. However INDOOR empire custom is not as brittle. The white filled empire custom appears to be a harder shell with a stronger bond between the seams. It's also a denser feeling ball.

I've seen the custom vary wildly though, one field gets the indoor custom in red/white and it's an average ball. Another gets it in blue/yellow (both white fill) and its super small bore and kinda bouncy. These fields get the paint from the same distributor, but are different formulations apparently. Glad our outdoor gets really good custom.

Personally I also recommend avoiding indoor white shell/fill evil. The shell is lackluster and the fill is no thicker then empire. But indoor white on white allstar is ****ing awesome.

I used Valken Graffiti this last weekend at Canadian Carnage and I'm not too impressed. There was a lot of bounces and the fill was watery orange that was hard to tell if anyone was hit. It flew straight thought.

If I'm buying field paint, Heat is my choice. It flies straight for me, but I admit it bounces a lot and the shells cut you on exposed skin shots.
