Gluten Free Diet
Hey Nation, I just got dignosed with this disease that makes it so I can't have gluten. So I am switching to a gluten free diet. I am not too happy about it but my mom and some of my friends have been helping me out with finding stuff that I can eat that is gluten free.
So I was wondering if anyone else has come up with a diet that is gluten free and that works for them.
The way I found out was that I have had a bad stomach ache for like several months then got blood work done and found out that I needed to stop having gluten in my diet.

Google "Gluten free diet". Not trying to be a dick, but it sounds pretty simple.

Yeah, I have done that. I was just wondering what other people have done along with or other than googling it. I know pretty much the basics and was wondering what creative things that they eat to replace like bread, pizza, stuff like that.

my brother and my mom are gluten free. theres a lot of good stuff out there that you can buy gluten free. its just trial and error to figure out the good from the bad.
if you have them near you check whole foods and trader joes.

Haha, I love trader joes. Yeah, they have good stuff. I am glad I can have rice, chinese, and thai food still. Just no noodles. Cept the thai restaurant near us uses rice noodles. Chinese and Thai are my favorite. I started eating Thai food when I was 9 months old.

Gluten-free is either hit or miss from what I have seen. I'm not a celiac, but my aunt and grandmother are, so I have had to eat gluten-free holiday dinners. However, in the past year or so, it has started to take off as the next hipster diet. If you live in/near a big city, chances are there are places that serve good gluten free food. Otherwise, just go to the book store and get a recipe book, read information online, and try different ways of substituting for gluten in your diet (ie. gluten free flour) until you find your favorite.
FWIW, some of the best angel food cake (my favorite kind of cake) I have ever had was gluten free.

Going on the Djokovic diet eh?
Apparently he found or not that long ago that he was allergic to gluten, so he had to completely change his diet as well.
I know you pretty much can't have any bread products, which really sucks.

Celiac? The make gluten free pastas, flour and such. So you can still have pizza, even if you have to make it yourself. In all honesty, it's probably better for your health that you can't eat a lot of the garbage everyone else does. Enjoy what you can, that's the best advice I have.

Honestly, I have yet to see anything to back this up other that speculation and rumor. The most I have seen is an article saying how gluten is neither beneficial or harmful.

gluten is simply a protein in wheat. it's just that the majority of 'junk food' is made with wheat flour so it eliminates a lot of things you might consume during the day with gluten free alternatives.

That is true. Although, you can eat some of the stuff but not in large amounts. I feel sick if I do.

I was more of referring to the people who eat a gluten-free diet that aren't celiac. There is no logical reason for them to do it instead of just eating a better diet.
