ECU questions

Okay. So I just bought a used 01 Integra GSR. Nice car but I need it to pass emissions. The car is an obd2. Apparently one of the previous owners put an obd1 ecu in the car. Am I going to need to replace the obd1 ecu with an obd2 so they can plug into the obd2 ecu to do emissions?

*Ive never had a car emissions tested before so please try and bare with me.

Maybe call them and ask if you can just do the actual emissions test, meaning the one that actually checks emission levels and not just the cash cow OBD code test.

As far as I know, any car after 96 is required to be obd2. I'm not sure how difficult it'd be to swap over. I can't imagine it'd be too bad. Has the motor been swapped or is it still a stock gsr?

Get a stock obd2 ecu for it, hopefully the previous owner didn't cock about with all the emission stuff. I don't know if it's been tuned for power, but after you pass just swap it back if it has been tuned.

just do the resistor mod and be done, the resistor values will drop to 0 as long as your resitor is 100 ohms or greater
