I put this thread here because it is all correct and great advice, not because it's wrong. You guys aren't understanding that food has more, and better quality of these than your shakes. Amino acids and protein are LOADED in lean meat. You don't need shakes for that. Take shakes if you enjoy ****ting out 75% of what you just drank.

If you knew the benefits of food in comparison to a protein shake then you wouldn't be arguing your case.

Taking excessive powders will typically run right through your system, and right out your ***. Food has a better complexity to it allowing it to to digest better in your stomach ect.

Real food > shakes. Willing to bet that majority of the people training on pbn don't even lift enough or have the body composition to make the extra shakes they are taking beneficial at all on top of the sufficient protein they are already getting in their food. I'm guilty of doing this in the past during college and I spent more time on the crapper than in the gym. I lost it at the movie quote....haha. http://youtu.be/PWSx0bBiNIs

Also, taking excessive anything will run right through you. 400g of protein from whey or 400g from chicken is still 400 ****ing grams of protein. There will be slight differences (the aforementioned amino acid profiles, digestive differences, etc) but it's still ****ing protein.
"Real" food is better because of how it digests and the micronutrients and phytochemicals it contains. That being said, whey and other protein supplements definitely have their place, and should be used accordingly.
OP, would you be more comfortable with protein shakes if they were made from "real" food? Hell, just as a hypothetical situation, let's say they were made from milk some how. Like if they separated the protein from it and turned it into a powder. Would that be better?
