2. SC village , pleanty of fun things to do in riverside. Also the location is less sparse then lakeland
3. Skirmish, white water rafting 5 minutes away (cool thing thing to do if you dont make it to sunday),
4. Pevs Paintball Park, 30 minutes to DC enough said
5. CPX paintball , 20 minutes to a jiolet,

And there are other upsides - the hotel rooms start at $39/night for example.

Besides, the tournament *IS* the fun. We take over 4-5 hotels, the local restaurants... it's not like most of our players are old enough to gamble somewhere or like you're going to be playing and going to the beach during the same day.

Look, I'd love to go to a spring break town during spring break. But it just doesn't make financial sense - not for the teams who would have to pay the inflated hotel rates, and not for the league who would blow an extra $40k to $50k setting up at a location that isn't a paintball field.

If you want spring break, go on spring break. If you want to play one of the best tournaments of the year, you should go to NCPA Nationals. I am I was saying pick a remotely fun location you dont need to go balls out and do cancun mexico, punta cana DR, rio de janeiro Brazil ect. just pick somewhere more fun then lakeland florida

that research took all of 5 minutes. With 8 months of planing im sure a better venue then CFP could be put together.

also try and innovate rather than take the easy way out and stay with the status quo. Maybe your solution should be 4 regional finals (northeast , southeast, midwest and westcoast). Hell most of the west coast schools dont fly out anyway, and you would probally loose alot of the east coast schools if they all had to fly to cali.

maybe the answer is 4 regional events and the top 4 AA teams and top A team from each region (put maybe 2 wildcard teams in there for class A) and they all meet at a finals type national event. Or hell you partner with NPPL or PSP and the "national" finals end up at some other event.

either way i think you are going to hit a bottleneck with interest in nationals at CFP in florida.

lol not really , unless you plan on drinking in the bar your hotel might have with some minor league baseball players being 21 doesnt change much.

you wouldnt have to your regional even would be in cali where you would drive.

some schools cant afford to fly to any events. I went from a school that flew to nationals every year to a school that cant afford to fly this year.

We can't even afford a Class A conference here is what I mean. None of the schools here can afford playing a Class A event to qualify for another Class A event afterwards. We would basically be disqualified from ever playing Class A if the current system was changed for a qualifier event.

Assuming you even make it . Uc irvine doesn't go to nationals , I'm sure alot f other schools would get involved if there was a regional event at the end

Be resourceful these guys have been running Ncpa for years I'm sure they can think of something

If what I was told in the past was correct, college teams/sport clubs cannot compete for cash payouts.

I can see the pay for play scandals already forming. I wonder if I could trade my jersey and nationals medal for a couple of tattoos

tattoo artists only want the Star players jerseys on the winning teams .

Idk plane vouchers could work i think.

Im just tired of the same old same old scenary in lakeland. Where doing an event for the first time is more fun because you never been there like I recently did USPL/NPPL DC which was cool. I want to do chicago NPPL because i never been to cpx . lakeland year in and year out gets stale

As fun as it is to imagine having a new vacation spot each year for Nationals, a lot of factors go into the selection. Each year, Lakeland puts money towards this event, as it's seen as advertising for them. NCPA uses this money to upgrade the facility so it can hold the event. So, we have somewhat of a vested interest to return each year because that money has been sunk into the facility so it can accommodate the National Championships.

That's just one of the reasons why we keep going back to Lakeland, year after year. Why fix something if it ain't broke?

He just likes to find things to ***** about.

Honestly if you are so concerned about having fun for the couple days that you are there to play Paintball... Then after you play, head on over to Tampa or Orlando and go enjoy the night life, not that far of a drive to either.. Not sure where you play paintball at but sorry not every paintball field is located in a major city with a club full of 18 yr old ****s you can go rub up on..

Drive 45 minutes NE and you're in Orlando or drive 35 minutes West and you're in Tampa. If you can't find anything fun to do in either of those places I feel sorry for you.

That's a lot to ask of someone who has a stick so far up their ***...

You know what, we should just move CFP's entire field to Orlando for him.. I mean, why not? It's just a few hours of labor and shipping isn't that far.. NCPA can just fund it out of their giant pool of money in Chris Raehl's back yard. Well that is right after he pays for everyone who lives 4+ states away from Florida to fly to the event... Seems simple enough for me.

The results are not surprising given how much effort you put into it. Only one of those locations could potentially work, and even that one is questionable on the weather front.
