In this post I will give you the guide on why/why not to buy the Ninja SL with the Pro V2. NOTE: I do own the tank myself and these facts are also based off of other peoples reviews and experiences with the tank.

Reasons NOT to buy:
-Expensive
-Doesn't work well with PE guns (Specifically the POPS ASA)
-New PRO V2 isn't worth the extra money (Opinion but most people I've talked to have said the same)

Reasons TO buy:
-Its Ninja (Best air tank company)
-Super Light -Ninja customer service is great
-Has swivel option from original Pro reg
-Good looking (Letters and simple yet cool looking colors)

Feel free to add other reasons

I do not own an sl tank, but I do own a v2 reg. Am I satisfied? Yeah it's ninja, it's a great product. Would I recommend it over a standard pro reg? No. If you have the extra money and want a the latest and greatest then fine. The small gauge is meh, it's cool but not game breaking.

As far as the ball bearing valve pin, great idea, but again not game changing.

I have a v2 on a 68/4500 dura breast cancer tank, set to MP output for my luxe, and axes. Do I notice the 30% faster recharge? No. Of course I never had recharge issues before so this may not be a fair comparison.

All in all the reg is great, but if you currently run a ninja pro reg, I wouldn't recommend getting a V2. If you are running a crossfire, empire or other older model reg, then I would suggest looking at a v2.

What is it specifically that makes it not work well on the POPS asa for you? I'm curious because there could be some factors involved and it may just come down to some machining tolerances.

every single reason listed to purchase or not is all subjective and on top of it, based on opinions the OP read elsewhere with no evidence to back up claims.

For me the specifics were the pops does not air up as easy with the tank. Also the geo 2.1 is supposed to work with 800psi and when I used it, massive leaks came out of the asa. One of the workers at my shop had agreed with me about how pe guns and the pro v2 dont go well together

You can feel a difference for sure... The V2 reg is a lot harder to push in (more surface area that you are pushing) using the pops... thats all. I dont think it is big deal, but there is a difference in the amount of force needed to push the pops in.

A geo 2.1 should be able to take 800 psi that is correct, did you try that same gun with a different tank that is at 800 psi? We have a couple 2.1's at the factory (Ray has a purple one) and have been using the prov2 with no issues

I got to see/feel my first SL tank yesterday - gonna have to pick up one here soon!

It was mounted on my buddy's LV1 (with POPS), and it was ripping along all day

After hearing all the issues about the pops and pro v2 reg. I just ended up swapping out the ultralite reg I ordered with it, for my pro v1 reg on my current ninja tank. So at least Ill have the low weight of the SL tank without the difficulties of really pushing on the pops to air the gun up. And also having the ability to position the bonnet anyway I want. Also saved me $20 and a possible annoying problem with the pops and the pro v2 reg.

Yes with my normal 68/4500 at 800psi the gun works just fine. So I don't believe it's my guns problem.

I just ordered my SL tank yesterday with the V2. Looks like the only "issue" is that the POPS asa requires a little force to engage... But I'm using an old OOPS asa, so no issues there for me. Looking forward to getting it as my old tank is from 06.

My V2 doesn't like my LV1 pops, takes some force to pressurise my marker in stead of a nice easy smooth connection with my pin style Pro, but is fine with my Luxe

The added force is due to the increased surface area of the ball and added flow, if you drop your PRO V2 reg down to 550 psi (remove 2 of the 3 thin silver shims) it will be a lot easier to activate and run perfectly on your LV1 and Luxe

Since the SLP runs at such a low pressure, doesn't it take the most advantage of the increased flow vs the regular reg?

i run a geo 3 and an SL tank with pro v2. all my shims are removed and i think its easy push in. its only difficult if you have the finger strength of a 2 year old child.

I had the SL tank and had to sell it and get my Dura tank back. I couldnt get used to the new profile of the SL but the reduced weight was great.
