Though it is fun to rip away once in a while, until I realize I just blew though 700 rounds on 1 target!

Dirt,
I knew a guy during the late 90s who would drop 800 rounds to get a guy out.

That's a lot of paint from a mech gun for one kill! Even with my electro's I don't pour that much paint into a single target. I carry 5 dye pods and a loader of paint typically which is about 800 rounds. That usually makes it through several games. The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced to cap my electro's at 8pbs.

I've got a question for you guys. My cocker has the stock valve in it and I am pleased with how it operates especially with the light springs I have in it. I have read about other valves that perhaps function better. Any input on your personal experiences is appreciated. I'm just looking to get the most out of the gun as is reasonably possible. It shoots really well and is very consistent with the stock bolt and valve. I really can't complain once I replaced the reg and pneumatics.

This type of elitist attitude is exactly why paintball went through a nasty decline - newer players didn't feel welcome. Being a snob to a player with more expensive equipment; oh, the irony. Personally, I don't think there is anything wrong with a parent supporting a kid in paintball, although I personally purchased all of my equipment on my own but I don't see the former as a negative. Now I guess I could go on a tangent and say "this gun costs more than I make in a week, and I'm a paramedic who saves lives!!" but who really cares?

Hate to break out story time but maybe food for thought the next time you want to have an attitude with a kid with nice equipment because you don't know for sure if it was all funded by Mom and Dad (and who cares if it was): I remember being 17 and wanting to upgrade from a Tippmann. I ended saving up for 6 months to buy a 99 Shocker S/F, 68/45 tank and a 12 volt revy, all together $1,200 I believe. I was really proud of being dedicated enough to make that large of a purchase that young, and I feel it was a valuable lesson in money management that I still use to this day. Long story short, the first time I got to take it to a field the owner made a similar comment as yours, and stated "must still live in Mom's basement. Little did he know (thanks in no part to his judgement), that my Mother passed away 2 months ago. Being she was a single Mother and I didn't have family in the states and desired to finish school where I started, I moved out, got an apartment and was trying to balance all of this by making pizzas at a pizza hut and this was the first time I had $50 to go play. I'm still blown away to this day of what a dick this guy was and how insensitive his comments were - and he was the field owner!

Needlesss to say, I never went back there again. Field closed in 2003 (probably due to more ignorant comments by the owner), he went bankrupt in 2006 and committed suicide in 2008. Now, I can't say I was happy that he killed himself, but I was thrilled to hear his field closed and didn't exactly shead a tear over his financial woes, as I see them as a bit of karma catching back up to him and I'm not ashamed to say that.

Morale: Instead of judging these players for "not knowing the sport's history", maybe take the time to tell them about it. If they love the sport as much as we do, they probably want to know more about it but maybe just didn't have anyone to inform them.

^^^ your an idoit, you talk like you know me personally or have seen me do this to kids. Its not like im kicking them in the shins and flipping them the bird as i walk away. and these kids dont have more expensive equipment than me, nor am i upset that there parents bought them the gun.

My back story. I coach a young guns team, LL Baseball team, wresting, and Youth football....sounds like im pushing kids out of sports huh? I have been promoting paintball for over half my life(12 years). I was just simply referring agglets who are HK from head to toe, talk like they know more about paintball than me, and then have no idea what an automag or autococker is.

you wont really notice much of a difference between valves. not near as much difference as you would a spring kit anyway. not unless you went all out and bought an AKA valve. ive never used one, but it seems to be the common consensus.

Thanks guys for the input about valves. That's pretty much what I thought already, but was curious. My cocker is the best shooting gun I have and that's not for lack of decent guns.

This thread is about AUTOCOCKERS, not peoples opinions about who should or shouldn't be playing or their mothers or how they saved for whatever. Please take your argument off line so the thread doesn't turn into a war zone.

If you have a great story about how you owned the field with your cocker, that would be appropriate for this thread.

Thanks in advance.

I'm making teak grips and thought it would be great if they were textured. You have a picture on yours. Did you do that or was that some kind of laser etching?
