My understanding is that it is flush with the bolt guide, don't car about looks, care about performance.

What version is it? My old V3 said not to put it above 200 psi. Maybe try adjusting dwell, pressure, and the back cap (amount of turns in or out) all together to try and get the perfect match.

First off, don't put your pressure above 200. It could really screw over your marker. Next, I would do a full strip down of the entire marker. Wipe down all parts/o-rings, then give em a fresh light coat of lube (dow 33). Do the same with the poppet; remove it completely as well as check the face. Wipe the inside of the bolt guide with a q-tip to remove all excess lube from inside there.

When reinstalling the poppet, turn the back cap in until it won't turn anymore, but do not tighten it hard, this will damage the poppet face.

You can also try cleaning the solenoid. Open it up, wipe it clean of all lubricant (inside and out), then reassemble. You can find a link to cleaning it in the stickies.

Once this stuff is done, put a new brand-name battery in, turn the back cap about a quarter turn out, and that should give you 300 fps. Air it up, and make sure not to go over 200 psi.
