How would you like to see ID tape worn?

Last year's format seemed very successful with the exception of the confusion caused by having both side and unit (gang) colors on the arms. There was a lot of discussion on this earlier and it was established that we would have red or blue survey tape on the goggle straps and gang (unit) color on the arm. However there has been more discussion on the subject as of late, so I wanted to get your opinions. If there are enough votes I will likely go with whatever the popular opinion is. However, if there are not enough votes for me to feel confident that it represents "the masses" I may choose a different route. SO vote away.

Lots of players have stated that one of the things that makes Living Legends so great is our willingness to listen to the players. This is another attempt to do just that, so please help us out and let us know what you think.

I'm goign to have to go with unit tape on the goggles, and squad tape on the arm. That way a player can quickly identify whether or not they are on the same team (as the head is usually whats visible when being shot at, or shooting at something), so theres no more accidental "blue on blue" contact. The squad tape is secondary, and not nearly as important to quickly identify as the team tape.

My vote goes to unit tape on the arm. As someone who wishes for more games with optional armband tape to begin with, I'd prefer the less-visible option for team tape.

But I'm just one of those wacky guys who likes having everyone on edge wondering what side the guy walking up on them is playing for... Makes it a more mental game IMO, having to confirm ID's and whatnot, leads to more fun for the sneaky guys.

Ive played a few scenario games and think there should be tape on both arms and on the mask somewhere. I had sneaking up on someone and not shooting them because you don't know what team they are on.

No option for "wrapped completely around the head of the opposing team"?

I do have to say that while colored duct tape is convenient in some ways, it sucks when it comes time to pull it off. Tape residue and such.

To be clear: Red/Blue tape indicates which side (Horde/Empire) while 1" tape indicates which unit (i.e. Praetorian Guard).

Then hopefully we never cross paths, as I shoot first ask later. If you don't clearly identify yourself, you are a threat lol. Hope you don't mind xD.

shoot first ask questions later? my kinda thing. id prefer no arm band tape and specific uniforms, but thats much more costly to the player. i say no head tape at all, for one it gets in the way for people who use goggle cams (and people who dont). nothing is worse than having a piece of tape flapping around in your face or in the camera. also, on my mask, itd really only be possible to have my tape in the back, which would defeat the purpose of it anyway unless you were on my team (sorry empire guys, you wont be sneaking up behind me, that kind of thing doesnt happen). im sure im one of the few who head tape will actually bother them, but just throwin that out there. but hey, this living ****ing legends, a minor tape issue is not gonna ruin my weekend.

I'd rather have identifiers on arms and nothing on goggles.

If we have to have something on goggles, please don't let it dangle. I will be very annoyed if there's tape flapping in my field of view.

survey on arms so friggin adhesive doesnt make my new jersey all nasty

Id say minimum of 1 tape/band on each arm. With maximum both arms, goggles, hopper and barrel tip Never can have to much to identify yourself.

i would pick more of a orange/yellow tape, something florescent bright color, something easy to spot. Blue/red you have to take a second, especially if there wearing a jersey/shirt that matches there armband.

Imo, tape on the arms both of them, 3 inches thick, also as well as tape on both legs around the thighs 3 inches thick.
Tape in a X shape around the hopper.
I could see tape on the mask getting in the way of your vision.
but this way, people who are half hiding behind a bunker with a gun and head sticking out are easily seen which side they are on, if there on the ground ect, some people will try and hide their armbands from being seen.

Mark legs and arms with 3 inch tape, people who wear glasses under the mask, or if they can't makes it a bit handicapped for the player.

If you can, maybe a set of velcro arm bands with a patch of there team for people to buy at the event, this way they can also take something home.

I suppose "pasties" is what you east coasters call them.

Calvin, I sincerely hope your last thought before you sleep involves me and a pair of pasties rotating in opposite directions.

You are outta your mind if you think I'm gonna let you tape up my hopper. I pride myself in keeping those in as best condition as possible, and I don't want a bunch of sticky **** all over it.

As for those complaining about the goggle tape, no one says you have to leave it one big strip. Wrap it around a couple times and keep it flap, as it goes around the strap.

Duct tape on a hopper, absolutely not. Surveyor's tape, I'd be much more open to that. I have a roll of hot pink for seach and rescue work that comes to mind. No adhesive, tightens nicely as needed.

For team 2 pieces survey tape on the goggles no less then 5in long (viewable) on one either side of your head (each ear).

For the squad 1 piece of 2 inch tape on the arm ..

I would let people make the goggle tape as long as they want but they should be at least 5 in, this length should still be plenty visible and not flap around too much, obstruct vision, or catch on things ( brush trees gear) ..

The three polls have made it clear what the players prefer, so here is what we are going to go with

Quote:
Red or Blue ID Tape: Failure to wear ID tape on teh field will result in a warning and a judge punch. One strip of 2" red or blue duct tape must be worn on each arm between your elbow and shoulder, and must be clearly visible at all times. This tape will be provided to you by your commander or one of his officers, not by the event staff. The only legal way to acquire ID tape is from your commander or a legal member of that team that was placed on that side by the event staff. You must wear your ID tape while on the field.

Medics must also wear a white armband alongside their red or blue armband.

Each player will also receive two strips of one-inch wide colored tape from their unit leader to indicate what unit they are in. A twelve inch strip must be attached to each side of your goggles and clearly visible near your left and right ear. This must be worn anytime you are on the field and must be clearly visible anytime you are taking part in a mission for your particular unit. (HORDE UNITS: Gaul, Visigoths, Barbarians, Vandals, Huns. NEW EMPIRE UNITS: Blood Legion, Centaur Legion, Pegasus Legion, Minotaur Legion, Praetorian Guard)
The unit tape is 1" duct tape and will be worn as show below. It doesn't flap, get in the way, or fall off.

Thanks for the update viper.

I dont understand people that would rather see the unit color over side color (see head before arm 99% of time). Now the first thing we'll all see is 10 different colors for every squad...arg people

I wish we could get away with wearing our unit color on one arm and team color on the other. This is getting too confusing for us simple folk who just shoot at people who are facing them.
