SL3 reg worth it for Geo+

I am picking up a Geo+ and was wondering if it's really worth it to upgrade to the SL3 reg? They say you can shoot all the way down to approx 200psi in your tank with it, but how far down can you shoot with the S3 reg that comes with it?

On my Etek3 with S3, I can shoot down to were the gauge on the tank doesn't register anymore, but don't know how far down that is.

Has anyone upgraded this? And if so, how many more shots did you get per tank?

Just trying to justify the cost of the reg, and then getting it annoed to match the marker.

sl3 reg

The sl3 reg was a great upgrade for me I had an etek 3 as well remember you had a low pres reg on it as well the geo does not. with the sl3 I was able to have a consistant 300 fps shot without having to have the reg turned all the way up and it would shoot smooth and consistant down to just bellow 200 psi in the tank. I would highly recomend the upgrade it worked great for me. Enjoy your new gun, Geo's are fantastic and easy to maintain

To be honest I wouldn't bother. If u had something older like an ego7/8 then it would be justified but not for a geo+. Save the cash and buy a case.

I have some store credit to burn up, don't want to order paint and have the post ofice mess it up. I'm debating between a few things and saw the SL3 reg.

If you have store credit there is no real harm in ordering it.
The SL3 is a great regulator and shoots more consistently down to the lowest in your tank. You should also be able to use an LP tank without swapping the springs. Just make sure you order the right SL3 for the Geo. You'll want the lower / mid pressure offering.

I've not upgraded my Geo, but I have it on 2 of my Egos and i can shoot down consistently to almost nothing in my tank (at high rates of fire it still drops off.)

As stated, you can continue to get decent velocity shots down to very low pressures in your tank, and can use LP, MP or HP output tanks with your Geo, without any modification to your reg (though you may need to adjust velocity of course). The SL3 reg also has a replaceable reg seat seal, meaning that if the seat seal is damaged, you can replace just the seal, rather than having to buy a whole new piston.

If you are happy with the performance of your reg/marker, then the SL3 reg is far from being essential, but it is a nice upgrade, and does have some advantages over the S3.
