Last time I checked a plane ticket to England was about $1,200 and the dollar to pound ratio is $1 = 0.61 pound

Well I'm a little PO'ed that I just spent around $1600 on a new race build but I don't even have time to ride let alone compete . And I lost my desire to ride somehow. Usually 4-5 days off and I'm itching to get on the saddle again. I rode Saturday for the first time in about two weeks and felt slow, tired, burnt out, and just lost my motivation.

I fully understand. I took some time off from riding, then randomly watched a cycling video which got me back into it. This trip to England is making me very motivated to ride a lot to lose all this extra weight I am carrying around.

Would you rather buy brand new Boyd tubulars or used 404s?

I picked up some used Zipps for $525, if I recall correctly. That was with Continental tubulars mounted and a SRAM Red cassette. They've been great! I would recommend that route. It's getting to be a great time to buy, too, with fall/winter on its way.

A kid I raced juniors with last year when I first started racing got the opportunity to race the junior world championships. They stayed in the same hotel as the GB team, ate breakfast with them, and rode in the elevator/talked to Wiggo. So jelly.

I don't think I have ever been kicked so much as yesterday morning....and it was only 20 miles! Wasn't expecting so much off-roading (should of brought a mountain bike or at least a CX) as well as several hills that were 14%+....My body isn't made to do that kind of stuff.
Can't wait to do that ride again...too bad it is 1:30 hours away.

some of the best rides in my area are on unpaved roads, but I've got a carbon cross bike with gravel tires. It's not the big of a deal for just plowing through short sections, but I've found it impossible to turn in thick gravel or sand with a road bike... it just won't hook up.

Yeah, it was a about 6 sections of one mile long sections without pavement.
looked kind of like this:

Almost ate it a few times, but stayed upright. To make the ride even crazier.....we had a guy on a track bike without brakes riding with us. Boss.

Congrats!

So I went for a 60 mile ride yesterday with close to 4000 feet of climbing. My legs were not amused
