I would do that for sure. Too bad you're not moving to Dallas, that'd be even easier haha

Just bought Allen Lim's book. "The Feed Zone" it's awesome. I highly recommend it.

I'm going to test ride a bunch of bike tomorrow, and then hopefully purchase one in early august. This shop has a good slection of parlee, focus, andy merkx, BMC, specialized/sworks, and a few others. I am excited

w/e, close enough.

EDIT: Well, I went to the bike shop to test ride pretty much all their bikes(less than 4500$). BMC, multiple Looks, Specialized, Parlee's(little spendy), Eddy Merkx(up yours berserker ), a scott, Giant TCR or w/e...ended up reserving a Look L86?, has ultegra components...I was super impressed by it, plus I got a 15% discount and they're going to throw in the fit for free, plus a huge discount on gear...couldn't resist. early august I should have it in my house soo happy! pics in the next few weeks.

What is yalls average speed for about 50 miles or 25 miles? I did a local ride today that had rolling hills for 50 miles and averaged 23 mph (slight tailwind) and 20 mph (decent headwind) back. This was a social ride and I had no intentions of racing or any goals. So I was quite impressed with myself.

LOOK makes guns now? :p

Well we have a 25 mile ride that starts at 6:15am and we are back before 7:30
Then Sundays we have a 50 mile ride that takes us roughly 2 hours that is from Newport News to Yorktown and back. It all depends on who is there.

It's dependent on many things really. Group size and the caliber riders is a huge factor. Thats a pretty respectable pace though. Well done.

I guess I should mention is was mainly solo with my step dad catching me on descents.
I seem to be the only who doesn't like group rides.

Nice wheels man.

Do you guys have carbon Fiber/alluminum wheels that you use for all day use/general purpose and then a special set only used for races?

I love the ashtabula cranks on this Schwinn, the whole system is bolt together, no rivets on the chainrings so I can get it super clean.

Pop said the last time these bearings saw light was in 1974.

Even though this wasn't directed towards me, I'll bite.

For training I use a Askium front wheel (lowest end wheel in Mavic's arsenal) and an 32 spoke open pro laced to a power tap. That being said my training wheels are super heavy, but totally bomb proof. I can't tell you how many guys out here try to look "pro" and ride carbon clinchers as everyday wheels. Then they end up braking spokes, cracking rims, and even melting brake tracks on long steep descents (but thats a skill problem as well). Any real pro will tell you to buy a set of good aluminum rimmed clinchers with a high spoke count to use for training that are cheap. Then use your expensive race wheels for racing.

I only ride my carbon tubulars when I race, thats it.
