Hampton roads and NoVA blow. Central VA is ****ing great. Half the traffic, all the fun.

Well my goal was to get somewhere with awesome riding and having a track nearby was a long shot anywhere, so I'm doing pretty well.
Track racing is cheaper and requires a lot less training time too which is a bonus.
Talking to a friend about possibly riding for a local team out of boulder, although I think they might expect me to race up there too and I don't like cereal bowl tracks

I picked up some Kreitler rollers last night for cheap. I must say it's a fun experience learning how to ride them

So I have been bitten by the tubular wheelset bug.....Not the best of wheels, but for the price it isn't a pair of ebay carbon.

$800 with tires (vittoria corsa evo)

Those look alright, but I would recommending considering going the used route or the straight out of China route. It's not too hard to find used, high-quality (e.g. Zipps) tubbies for what you're looking to spend, and I've mostly heard good things about the $500 Chinese tubulars.

In other news, there are a bunch of wildfires in my area and I'm about to go for a ride. It might feel like I'm riding circles around a campfire with all the smoke/crap in the air

I would go with the chinese wheels, but I'm no where close to being light (200 lb.)

I think for my price range, used is my best option.....

Ride was better than expected since the wind blew away the smoke. Unfortunately, I had to deal with the wind: ) Oh well, I got in 54 miles and 4100 feet of climbing
