1997 Lexus Es300
I'm 15 and I got my uncles Lexus Es 300. How can you tell if the rear suspension is shot?

Look for holes. If its been shot surely there will be bullet holes.

If it rides like a fat chick in doggy, you need to replace parts.

Simple, entirely nondescript test? Push down on the back of the car, release, watch how many times it recoils before settling.
If it's more than a couple times, start checking stuff.
No idea if it's true or not, anecdotally I can say it has worked for me.

that is pretty true atomic.
if the car bounces a number of times that is and indication of blown rear struts. The strut is what dampens the spring in the suspension. This makes it less bouncy.

Its a Camry multilink setup, it probably needs new links. Grab the tire and try to "steer" it, if its moves and you hear clunking, the lateral links are bad.

I thought if it bounced back more than 12 times it's not good, anything less you're a-okay.
