Government has been running Healthcare for a long time where have you been between mandates, regulating procedures, drugs, Medicare/caid, VA, licensing monopolies, laws and fees, there isn't much the government isn't running in the healthcare industry. The only logical solution is more government clearly.

Frankly, If I was in the catholic church, I'd be more upset that my Vatican dues were being used to keep sex offenders and those that protected sex offenders (Cardinal Law) living in the lap if luxury.

Why do they complain about the pebble in their neighbor's eye but fail to notice the log in their own? Matt 7:3

But hey they own morality, so who am I to judge?

Lap OF luxury? I guess you've never been inside a rectory before.

Why ARE you complaining about the pebble in your neighbor's eye, anyway?

See where cardinal law is living? They promoted him after the Boston incident. He, as a cardinal, doesn't have to take the vow of poverty like the lesser priests do.

I don't claim to follow the book... I only read it. Nice try though

I use a phone so autocorrect is my enemy. Sorry for the confusion.

I hear you on the autocorrect, damn first world problems.

About Cardinal Law, I know he resigned his position in November but I don't know what he is doing/where he is now.

I don't know how cardinals live but I know they gave up all their worldly possessions to become priests.

I haven't kept up with cardinal law since the news covered the outrage of his promotion after the scandal. It's a local story so it was hard to get away from it. It was a major PR blunder and it showed where the church's heart really lies. Lets just say they don't live by example. His situation was pretty good after he left Boston though so that's why I brought it up.

Priests don't have to take the vow of poverty. Although many still live that way out of choice. The other main vows are service and chastity. I only know this by talking to the brothers at my catholic school. I wondered why some priests had so much stuff and others didn't. I'm sure there's more to it, but that's how they explained it to me.

Funny aside: while I was typing this my autocorrect changed priests to "perverts.". Glad I caught that one or else I would have had to really explain myself.

The government run health insurance programs, like medicare, are vastly more efficient than what the private market offers. I'm saying we should just give medicare to everyone, like Taiwan (who modeled their health care coverage off of it).

Or we could be the only semi-wealthy/wealthy nation on the planet to not have universal coverage while paying vastly higher costs.

In light of the newest CBO estimates of the costs of Obamacare, is that last statement accurate?
