Mostly trophies and for fun. There's plenty of teams that play this.

We have 15 teams signed up for this Sunday so far and had 17 teams last 3man! The prizes at the end of the series are a bonus thanks to Kee. The better the tournament turnout the better the prizes, this is why I have not posted what the prizes are yet. Other than that we will still be running the same great tournaments we have been for years. First second and third place leave with trophies and as stated respect.

You can register the day of but it helps out a lot if you let us know you are coming. That way we can get your team on the schedule. Also if you have not preregistered you are not guaranteed a spot, so if you know for sure you are coming it is a good idea to preregister.

17 teams again for the 2nd event. Great job guys. A great day of paintball all around. This is really turning into a great 3-man series. Come check it out if you have not already.
Coming from the referees standpoint, (me), this was an extremely hard event to referee. Outside of it being Africa hot all day long, the paint was not the brightest, and the field had a lot of blind spots. Players were constantly spread out on the field and us referees had to adjust our position all day long to get the best vantage points. I was shot "only" about 30 times trying to get in close to check players.
With that being said, and because im man enough to admit, I would like to apologize to the kid playing center home on the close side of the field in the 1st game of the day. What i thought was him being hit, turned out to not be so. From my 5yrs+ of reffing, the players reaction from the incoming paint, and the spray of the broken ball, i was 100% sure that he had been hit and called him out. After the game me and him had a discussion in which i concluded (to his face) that i made the wrong call. He mumbled something and stormed off really upset. And although i apologized to him yesterday, i felt it necessary to do so publicly on the nation, and to also say that we refs really do the best job we can. I referee all games the way i want to be refereed when im playing. That is straight, upfront, and most of all fair. But we are not perfect and sometimes a mistake is made. So to that young man i pulled for no reason, i apologize again. Hope you guys return for the next 3 man.

Thanks pnutty, I was the player you are talking about. There are no hard feelings. I felt the ball hit and looked to you for confirmation. I didn't expect it to bounce off my dome. As for the mumbling, don't take that as a sign of disrespect, I always mumble. I appreciate the effort and the apology. Reffing all day in the sun and heat has to be difficult.

No disrespect taken man. You were upset and justifiably so. I have been pulled in the same manner before so i know exactly how you felt at that moment. I know its prolly not the first wrong call ive made, but its the first time ive been called out like that and actually proven wrong. And because i take such pride in everything i do, it just really pissed me off personally to know that i made a bad call.
What we need is some instant replay

In 8 years of playing I have never heard a head referee publicly say they made an error and apologize for it. Carlos is the man, he's pretty much the Chuck Norris of paintball refs.
