Just wondering if this is possible without worrying about the eye covers coming off.

I dont believe so... the 2.0's covers rely on a latch... the 1.5's may not have any part to latch onto.

I tried removing the latch but I don't think it would stay on with just the magnets. Would there be a way of modifying it to stay on? I was thinking about using two sided tape

of course it will stay on with just the magnets, how do you think the 1.0's work?

Ummm.....they didn't...hence the screw on the 1.5 and then the latch on 2.0...

Never owned a 1.0. What would 1.0 owners do to prevent the eye covers from falling off?

Tape, magnet mods, pooty screw mod, wrist bracelets, basically anything that would hold them without stopping u from getting to the eyes

my 1.0 has never had the eye covers come off

Bad breech oring is what causes eye covers to come off or shooting your barrel swab while its in your barrel...lol... Not the lack of screws or a latch.

no...dlx put screws and latches because people were to retarded to keep their sft oring clean and from wear, causing blowback, causing eye cover to come off. I had 7 luxe 1.0's, neither of them had an issue with eyes coming off.

I have had my 1.0 for a couple of years now. Never had an eye cover issue.

Its only when you dont keep your SFT oring in good condition that you have eye cover issues.

Same reason for spring mod. Kids cant keep their guns to spec with orings and DLX had to "upgrade" the new 1.5 and 2.0 with idiot kid proof features.

Dont be afraid of a well maintained adult owned 1.0.

Never had a problem with my 1.0 luxe, eye covers coming off! Some of my team mates used rubberbands as a just in case! So they dident lose there eye covers...

Eye covers have come off on me. The first time I used it to be honest. I didn't know that all you need to do is to keep the sft oring in good shape to prevent that. Im Very new to luxes

Well, when DLX released the 2.0 they said the 2.0 eye covers are NOT backwards compatible...

That video pretty much explains it however I did manage to get the 2.0 eye covers on the 1.5 with double sided tape and it seems to be holding up pretty good. I guess I will just have to test it out on the field. I switched up the accent kits between my 1.5 and my 2.0 now my guns look so freaking hot. I just hope I wont lose the 2.0 eye covers on the field. I searched everywhere for teal 1.5 accent kits but I cant find them anywhere new.

Thanks for the advice and being a new luxe owner Ive always wondered why I seen a few luxes with the wrist bracelets on them, now I know.

I had a luxe 1.0 before the 1.5 I have now... never had a single issue with the eyes coming off, but my buddies did a few times. He also never cleaned his, or even had an oring kit. Go figure.

Sucks dlx changed them too, because i prefer the eye covers on the 1.0 to all the others. They look streamline, like the rest of the gun. Unlike the screws and latches on the 1.5, 2.0.

The problem with double sided tape is that if you break paint its going to make the tape lose its sticky ness. Also the magnants on the 2.0 covers are smaller than the 1.0 covers making them more likely to come off without a latch.

the only reason 1.0 eye cover pop off is due to a bad SFT oring or bad detents. but all eye covers 1.0-2.0 all have the magnets.
