school presentation
i have to do a presentation tomorrow about paintball in my speech class, i was wondering since we have to bring in props if it would be SAFE and not get me in trouble if i used a rotor as a prop and a pod of paint with paint in it.

As long as you don't bring in an actual paintball gun you shouldn't get into trouble.

Bring a mask in. Or maybe a pod like you said. Nothing that shoots any projectile will be ok.

+1 to goggles. maybe some of your gear like jersey or pants and explain what they do. absolutely no gun/tank of course and i'd try to stay away from any hard objects like your barrel and stuff

The mask and paint with pod is a good idea. Unless you start throwing it all over the place, you won't get in trouble.

Safety gear is generally one of the best things to bring. A rotor is interesting as well, just be sure to understand how it/the internals work. You could kill several minutes of a speech on that. If the school would allow it and you knew it well, the breakdown/pneumatic operation of a paintball gun would be interesting as well, however I think you'd be better suited to bring a mask/hopper/pod/arm pads or pants. Something to show that there is a bigger market and more to the sport than most think.

Taking down and explaining the gun would be good, but no school in the US is going to allow that. The OP can still ask though.

As long as you can clear it with campus security, and as long as you do not have an air source, you shouldn't have much problem bringing a MARKER on campus. When you present it to security, use THAT word. NOT gun. I would do that, and bring a mask, perhaps a pod with a few paintballs.

DO NOT BRING YOUR MARKER TO SCHOOL unless you want some crazy mother calling the FBI or something.

I would bring a mask and pod with a couple balls just so people can see them and maybe touch them.

Pretty sure it is still illegal to bring a paintball gun to school so just don't do that at all. Too bad you always seem to have better ideas after it's too late. I just thought of this like since you can't bring the gun to school maybe you could take a picture of it at home and take it apart and take pictures of the bolt and such and then explain everything like that. Oh well hope your presentation went well today.

bring a mask, hopper and a few paintballs, and id say use a few slides to just show some of the different types of guns that are offered in the industry.

Just saw this. My school did. You just need to clear it with the school administrators. They'll likely want you to leave it in their office or in the teacher's classroom until presentation time and then pick it up on the way home.

Avoid anything that fires a "projectile", that also includes the tank. Bring pictures of those instead if you really want to show them off. Hopper, Your gear like camo or speedball gear would work. Mask also like stated above (DONT WALK IN WITH IT ON YOUR FACE) LOL. Some pods. Only bring a handful of paintballs to show off. I can see you getting in trouble if they get passed around and kids take them and throw them at things in school.

No, it isn't 'illegal' to bring a paintball marker to school. It depends on a few different things. To begin with, in my state, a paintball marker is not considered a firearm I don't believe. Also, the school reserves the rights to limit what is and is not allowed on campus. Exceptions can be made in the event they do no directly endanger any students, faculty, or property and they serve an educational purpose.
As I said above, don't listen to people on here. Decide what you'd like to bring yourself and why. If a paintball marker is one of those things, a) talk to the school and explain your case and b) ensure you take a barrel plug to leave on the marker at all times.

Yep. This. Contact your school administrators, principal, and your teacher to find out. Your principal can contact the superintendent if unsure. Even though the marker is not connected to an air source, make sure you follow all safety precautions like condolences stated.
Worst that happens when you ask ahead of time is that they say no.
