Standard 9 is better, and the dwell at 14 is what fixed my bolt stick

So if I do maintain my Etha to the following, bolt stick is eliminated permanently?

1. Keep bolt and bumper free of any lubricant
2. Lightly lube valve body components
3. Set dwell at 14.
4. Use fresh 9V akaline battery

My spoolies in the past were painful guns as they got bolt stick for no reason.

The Etha is more of a poppet/blow forward design so I hope bolt stick doesn't happen on this design.

The Etha is new and I am confident PE will stand behind their products.

No because I ran a 10.5 dwell just fine. It was mostly the battery.

Use the 9V alkaline

Yes. And I found by doing this, the battery will last MUCH Longer. Much, much longer.

And you won't get bolt stick its a win-win.

How do you figure that feeding energy to the solenoid for a longer duration is going to give you better battery life?

The longer your dwell the less air (and to a lesser degree) battery efficient the marker will be. Clean and lube properly. Don't mess with dwell until the gun is broken in. Then and only then tune for efficiency or smoothness of shot.

This is the situation for my Etha, maybe not every other out there. When the gun is having bolt stick, and I fix it, I'm going to keep it that way.

These Etha's are milled with exacting tolerances and checked for accuracy before it becomes a assembled product.

What varies in tolerance are the o-rings that can vary. So some Etha's will not have bolt stick, and some develop bolt stick after so many shots. Try changing out the o-rings if it is persistent.

If these are shipped from the factory at 12ms, then they were tested before they left the factory working.

My conclusion, nobody has bolt stick since the bolt rides on a oiless tube. What is sticking is the poppet stem that may have a swollen o-ring.

Also could be an under or over lubed oring at the top of the poppet stem. Also you should clean inside the center part of the bolt that rides on the poppet stem.
