The main difference is that the Rev-i is a spool valve marker and the FX is a poppit valve marker. Poopit valves are usually know for their efficiency since the ram opens up the airway so that the right amount of pressure flows in to the gun without wasting that much air. The spool valve on the other hand will allow the whole bolt chamber to fill with air and when you fire it will "dump" all the air in the chamber out to propel the paintball. To my understanding most spool valve markers will get around 6 pods while most poppits will get around 9 pods or so.
On the other hand spool valve markers are usually quieter than poppits.
I'm sure someone would go further in depth on both sides but most things come down to personal preference. Either way you choose you will be receiving an awesome marker although my vote goes to the Rev-i because it's too dang sexy

I think it would be better to search on PBN "Difference between Spool Valve and Poppit valve markers" or something like that. There are a ton of threads about it and since the only really difference of magnitude between the two is spool vs. poppit thats where you should start. It will probably take a few hours so sift through the bias in the threads though, but there is some pretty good info in those threads. I would talk more but imma go to bed

I have owned both markers in question. IMO I would pick the REV-i anyday of the week. I had much less issues with the REV-i and the APE knock-off board in the FX is a joke. It is a good platform but looking back, I think they could have done much more with the FX than they did. They cut corners on the electroincs and I think they would have a much better rep if they had gone APE OLED from the get go.

Who said anything about marriage or long term?

The rev-i, on the other hand, is a keeper.

IMO the Revi was one of the most underrated markets to hit the market. I got one of tuned first ones when they were released. It was my favorite from the first times I put paint through it. Never had problems with it and it shot lasers. You can't go wrong with the Revi. The fx should have been better than what it was. They cut to many corners with that one. Personally I would go with an etek over the fx. So go with the RevI
