I tried to play Mass Effect, didn't get far before I lost interest.

Dead Space 2 was a great game though

Not the best pics... but gives a idea of my cluster Cable management means nothing to me, as long as everything fits.

Kinda wish LEDs were green or purple, but bc of the blue/yellow I nicknamed it wolverine. 5 LED 140mm, blue led zalman sink, and blue led PSU

I dunno, I think its cool. Has a sort of industrial look to it.

And cable management is semi-important for airflow, though. Not a huge factor.

It's better than my non-existent desktop! I think it's cool too.

Like I said, I'm building my very first desktop next week. I bought bargain bin parts, but I have this picture in my head of an awesome computer. We will certainly see what zero experience gets me.

Something always goes wrong with your first build.

I am yet to find someone that has done their first build 100% right. So it is good you are starting off with bargain bin bits. Make sure you have a grounding strap, and a can of air for cleaning connections isn't a bad idea.

I set up the crossfire on my ATI cards wrong and somehow ruined the crossfire cable unplugging it on my first build. Could of been a faulty part though. Well, that's what I told ATI support.

I lost interest in Mass Effect 2 really fast when I tried it on the PS3. I didn't get interested until I gave the first Mass Effect a try when it went on sale as combo on Steam during their Christmas sale. After fully playing ME, and understanding the whole story story (not a summarized comic), I had to play ME2 to continue the story. Now I'm looking forward to ME3.

my first build went flawless. This build not so... first had incompatible ram, then 2nd set of ram didnt work, finally got it right on 3rd. Processor came DOA, so had to get a replacement under warranty.

My first build everything was compatible, no issues with any components and didnt require a long setup to get it running.

My biggest problem with the cable management is that my PSU has I think 4 cables that have no use, so even with just rolling them up on the bottom they would get in the way of the bottom video card. So I tried to run majority of the larger wires from the PSU up through the middle and if it wasnt being used I tried to get it over the HDD area since thats the only area with space. Airflow also isnt a big deal on the front of the case since the HDD's are suspended and 2 large fans blow air in between the harddrives right onto the video cards.

This is what I got:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboB...t=Combo.770956

Hopefully everything plays nice. I'm sure I can figure out the rest with no less than 50 posts in the building thread.

Dremel exit holes on the back panel, run the cables between the back panel and back side panel. That one thing I like about my corsair PSU. You don't have to plug in unused cables to the PSU... or I would have serious room issues with my build.

Thats one of the biggest benefits of buying there. Hopefully there are no DOA parts.

I think it's a good starter computer

Well, finally finished the Dead Island campaign this evening. I have to say, the story and it's pacing was one of the best I've played through lately. However, the remainder of the game left me rather disappointed. The quest system felt forced as the game played more like a linear FPS as opposed to an open world RPG. The movement felt incredibly awkward since strafing cut your speed down a great deal. Key bindings were broken for swapping items. Sadly, it didn't incorporate a manual save system either and relied only on checkpoints that appeared to save only during quests. To top it off, these checkpoints were rather unreliable at times. I had a few instances where I had died fighting special infected while attempting to complete quest objectives and I would be revived at a checkpoint having completed the quest objective and beaten the special infected, although I haven't. Aside from these issues though, it was quite awesome!

Ok Ive got one. Im looking for a GBA platformer that I could pick up and play for fifteen or so minutes and then put it away for a while. Bonus points if its colorful but not "girly".
