What would you change about Paintball?!?
Everyone is always talking about this so how about we put it up for discussion. Is there anything you would like to see differently with paintball in general and also the tournament scene!
Feel free to mash up ideas or suggestions and let the world know your thoughts
Look through and there are a lot of different ideas and topics floating around in this thread. Help yourself to one or two

Lol. how so? im curious because as a club officer at school we had this discussion with some of the experienced and new people and i was curious on what others have to say. Also i added the let the world know thing because its the internet and a lot of people are shy to express opinions but in expressing it will b our there for everyone to see.

well seeing as how your division wars thread was closed since it could have been accomplished by reading people appa badges, this could be done by just searching for one of the hundreds of other threads already made. Also you have more posts in your video/poll thread than any other 2 people combined. All I ask is that you post something not completely repetitive or obscure just to get accomplishments. come on

Yes, prices in general!!! And change the attitude of most players my age (minors). Paintball is a HAPPY team sport and should be played as such.

In general: promote special days, like once a month, where rentals are 30% to 50% off normal price.
In tourneys: no sandbagging, especially at the rookie level. Hard to enforce. Maybe APPA is the best approach.

When you guys talk about prices, wouldn't you relate that to not enough people participating in the sport, once demand goes up prices will drop as more product is being pumped out?
And for you Zippin35, i did search for threads in this nature and didnt find much so i started this one

Very true, a lot of leagues are starting to go towards the APPA card necessity in order to sign up

Paint prices have come down in recent years... by A LOT.... but paint consumption has also gone up. The sport struggles largely because paint prices are so damn high and competitive teams go through hundreds of dollars of paint just to run a practice. Bring down the cost of paint, bring up the number of players... Bring up the number of players, and more fields will open up and the sport will grow.

As far as actually playing the games, paint prices and sideline coaching (gets on my nerves). I also wish theyd get more advertising and broadcasting and stuff out there, strike up a deal with espn2 or something.

What's wrong with sideline coaching? Both sides have an equal opportunity to receive coaching, so any argument about fairness would be invalid. I agree with the broadcasting idea though. We need to let the people know that we aren't all underage delinquents that vandalize public property

I agree, sideline coaching needs to go. Other than that, lower paint prices would be nice and it would be great to see paintball on TV again, especially if they could find another announcer as good as Matty Marshall

This! Defiantly need to change the image of paintball for those outside the community.

It just sort of gets on my nerves. I feel like it takes away from the game, and then necessity for the PLAYERS to communicate.

I'm not particularly fond of any type of on-field coaching,
but I respect people that like it. it takes some skills away

Take away coaching except in the pro division and I would go back to semi, capped at 12.5, but I think walking the trigger should be a skill everyone HAS to learn

I wish people would stop slamming kids that get money from there parents to play. My parents HELP me pay. They pay some, and I pay some. I hate when people assume that just because my parents give me some money to play I am a stuck up brat and is a terrible player. And its not like they just give me the money, I do actual work, ex. build fences, take care of animals, clear out woods, physical labor that my parents pay me to do instead of hiring some landscaping company. And I do other work in other places so I can earn money not from my parents. Sure, there are some kids that barely play, have all the nicest gear, and can't take a hit. But not everyone that gets money from there parents is like that. I work hard, practice, and grind hard, and then when people group me with a bunch of kids who just hug a bunker the whole game it pisses me off.
Anyway, that is my rant.
