Anodizing a gun a second time?

Would there be any problems with anodizing a gun that has already been custom anodized once? Just wondering if there would be any issues like leaks or something?

so long as the first company did it right the first time and only had to dip it once, yes.

No, you should be fine having it re-anodized, even if it was done more then once. It starts to get risky around 3-4+ goes, all depending on who does it of course.

good deal.. I'm gonna be getting an autococker half blocked and I'm probably gonna get it re-annodized once it's all squared away..

I must say cockers have tight tolerances.

^so that means that you can anodize them more.

To be honest your could probably reano a cocker 5-6 times. The way they seal uses solid principals

After the 3rd time you can start to notice threads getting loose, but I've done a cocker body 3 times. Stuck it back together and it sealed like a champ.

What I'm getting at is that you will have no issues especially because its a cocker.

had this annodized recently. Including it's origional anno, its been anodized 5 times (the body). I had to machine a new bolt, upper tube was slightly oversized. Had to heli-coil the grip frame screws, threads were too loose. Other than those two things it seals up just fine and shoots like a champ.

Cockers are very forgiving when it comes to multable anodizing and tolerance issues. The only orings in the body that really need to seal are the valve, front block, and asa. All of those are static orings and you csn use dow 55 or a larger size oring if you have sealing problems.
