Yup... you be wrong. LOL
The 2.5 never had any Prototypes. The original Classic Bodied Ripper had several iterations before the final production model was decided on. The one you are confusing in this case is the Prototype IRONMAN.
As for Rippers, the only other Prototypes were the Ripper 1.25's of which only 2 were ever machined. It was what Jim pitched to Bob as the Ripper 2 but Bob felt it wasn't different enough so Jim went back to the drawing board and came up with the Ripper 2. Later that year the Ripper 2.5 was designed and released just before cup and I got to hold the very first one which was Blue with Black accents and belonged to Ron Nelson. He saw how much I loved it and a few weeks later he sent me the BRADSHAW... The holy grail of 2.5's.
What a wonderful person... Miss him at BLAST and in the sport.
