The cleats are for me. My son wears nothing but Mundials and swears by them which makes me consider them as an option.

For me, I don't care between leather and synthetic. I wear a 9.5 medium width with standard arch. For now, I will only be playing on field turf.

Back to boots/cleats for a bit. I picked up a pair of bladed Adidas boots visiting my son at AIT in South Carolina because my Nike Lasers were wearing out. Not long after I started wearing the Adidas boots, my knees started to feel a little sore the day after games. I only play indoor now, and the fields are new field turf. It almost feels like the grip of the blades is enough better than the Nikes' grip that there is more stress on my knee joints. I have not noticed any symptoms in my ankles, so that makes me question that hypothesis. Also, I am very right-footed but my left knee is worse so I know it has nothing to do with kicking the ball. Last, slide-tackling is not allowed, and I can't remember any contact that would have affected either knee.

All that said, I am going to try out some new shoes. My son wears nothing but Copa Mundials. They feel good, but they are expensive and he wears them out fairly quickly considering how much they cost. Does anyone here have any experience with those boots or suggestions for others that are available at Academy Sports or similar?

Blades are terrible. Even worse when on turf.

Copas are probably the cheapest of the top tier boots out. They usually run around 100 dollars new at retail. The next step would be Adipures and Legends at 140ish, Adipures and Legends have conical studs in the forefoot. Then you hit CTRs and the flat style soleplate of the Adidas LZ and adizero range at around 180. They both offer triangular style studs, with the olders CTRs having wide blades that don't grip as hard.

I am a tall and big guy and the only boots that have not made my joints sore are Adizeros, Adipures, Legends, and CTRs. Of that bunch, Legends and CTRs are what I wear all the time. I have a borderline wide and normal foot with a "normal" arch height.

You can look into last years adipowers which are bladed, but are very cheap (for about 100) and the blades are not very sharp/deep. CTR's are an awesome option also and will run about 100. I have adipures and legends and wouldn't suggest them.

QPR are going to take the league by storm this year I think. Not win or anything, but certainly top 10 and maybe even push for a Europa spot. They just signed Julio Cesar and are in talks with Granero.

They announced on their official Twitter account: "QPR have reached agreement with Real Madrid for the permanent transfer of midfielder Esteban Granero.

"The deal is subject to Granero agreeing personal terms and passing a medical."

Robert Green, Andrew Johnson, Samba Diakite, Fabio, Ryan Nelsen, Park Ji-sung, Junior Hoilett and Jose Bosingwa have this summer already arrived at QPR.

Julio Cesar, who is awaiting international clearance, Danish defender Simon Kjaer, Marseille midfielder Stephane Mbia and Real Ricardo Carvalho could also be signed before Friday.

Thanks for the advice; those are quite a few good options. I am going to avoid the CTR's, though. The reviews on them are good, but the reviews also say to avoid those on turf because their grip is too good for turf.

Carroll out on loan to West Ham. I'm calling Dempsey to Liverpool before deadline day passes us.

I use them on turf all the time and have no issues. The blades are much thicker than the laser blades on the CTRI and CTRIIs so they release quicker than you'd expect. The new CTRIIIs are really, really freaking soft for a synthetic leather and the studs are rounded on the outside and have a small cup on the inside, but are pretty narrow.

The reality is that any boot, any, in any stud configuration other than AG for all ground of TF for turf, will grip too much in turf. The TF shoes were made for more astroturf style surfaces and not the newer and more standard 3g style with the pellets. AG boots are usually relegated to the second tier of boots with the possibility to NikeID them if desired. I know quite a few people who like their Tiempo Mystic AGs a lot, they are a step down from the Legends but still felt quite soft when I handled them.

I hope not. Who would he play next to? Where would he play?

Borini is fantastic. Suarez is one of the first names on the team sheet. Gerrard is a club legend. So would he get slotted out wide? Share time as a supporting forward?

Gerrard should be right wing or in the hole, Suarez should go to the left wing and have Borini in the middle. There are rumors of Damiao coming in, but I'm not gonna believe it until I see it.

Dempsey to Spurs for 6 million. Great signing and the steal of the transfer window in my opinion

Borini needs to sharpen up first, playing just a little bit out of it at the moment.
Dempsey is obv out of the question

Lloris was a great pickup, so agreed there, but Berbatov is 31 and has been keeping the bench warm for the last year.

4m pounds for a guy who scores goals or creates them whenever he does play. I personally like him a lot and wish he would have fit in better for United. He will make a huge difference for Fulham.

Agreed, but yesterday's game showed what losing Dembele meant to Fulham.
